This is a good value hotel. You get what you pay for. We stayed on two different occasions so obviously reasonable. Older rooms not great but adequate. New rooms are better but several are on the road with very early morning traffic noise (4AM). Good value and a super location two blocks from the train station. Very convenient to food... More

Happen to stay overnight in Hat Yai, The city itself totally overpriced, so hotels as well. Do not be fulled by looking just how reception was decorated. Always check ROOMS! For 450 b( very high price, Normal price in Thai for that kind is 200 TOP!) the only option they have is a small room with no window.but with AC... More

Recommended in the Lonely Planet as being clean, but the smell in our room was pretty rank. It smelt like urine mixed with stale smoke. We were pretty convinced the sheets hadn't been changed as there was quite a bit of hair in the bed. Also, we asked if we could walk to the night market (which you can) and... More

The King's for a long time has been a cheap-yet-cheerful alternative to those budget guesthouses with squatter toilets, where you have to buy the toilet paper by the sheet. It's shabby but clean, having been built 50 years ago, with many of the rooms having holes in the plaster and peeling paint. BUT it's also got aircon, TV(!) and a... More

Compared to all the other hotels/guest houses we looked at nearby this was a palace! However on closer inspection...... -ves: very noisy & leaking air con noise from outside rough/scratchy bed sheets, some with a little staining smell of stale smoke throughout 'dated' +ves friendly staff good price (800THB triple ac) fridge (always a bonus!) good location for food/train station... Of course when you enter your room for the first time all the defects are immediately apparent: stains on the curtains, holes and frays on the carpet, wallpaper partly unstuck, stile of the bathroom split, etc...the whole would need serious renovation, still, for TBH 500 you have a single bedroom with large and comfy bed, AC, free WIFI in the... I just stayed there only two nights before my trip to KL. Hatyai is catering the tourists from Singapore and Malaysia for shopping and pleasure tour. It has some very popular and affordable cosmetic surgeons too. . For travelers who came by air can purchase the expensive goods excluding the VAT(value added tax). Have to show passport and air ticket... More

I have been to this hotel a few times starting in 2004 and the last time was in june 2010...In 2004 I found it to be a very nice place considering the price (450-550) bath...,and its still a quite good place with the same price...however the rooms are quite worn down and needs a restauration. The location is good, the staff... More

This was a rather bizarre experience. On check in the bellboy was excessively helpful. I told him 5 times that he didn't need to carry my bags, and he kept trying to grab them anyway. He walked with me up to my room and kept trying to demonstrate to me that all the lights worked, even though I kept shooing... More
