The guesthouse is situated off the main road, down an alleyway which opens up to a small garden with a number of tables and trees, and a row of simple but nice looking rooms. The garden is very inviting, and we saw many guests whiling away their time in it. A bonus is that you can get beers/ drinks and... More

Stayed at Baan Bua for two nights in November. Paid 500 baht for an AC room which in fact I never used. The room was big but basic. No TV. Both the door and windows are protected by screens which hold back those little mozzers we all love to hate. Bed was a tad on the hard side for me... More

Stayed at the Baan Bua for 2 nights in October. Pros: 1. Beautiful garden 2. Helpful owners and we booked two tours with them which were excellent 3. Air conditioning was great 4. Clean 5. Very near lots of bars (if that's your thing) Cons: 1. Room was very old and dark 2. There was a very annoying cockeril hanging... More

We stayed 6nights here (pd 400bht for air con room). This is a lovely comfortable guesthouse with gorgeous staff - Tim the owner is delightful, very helpful and friendly. Fong (I think that's her name) is the manager and she was absolutely wonderful! The rooms are basic, but they are reasonably large, ours came with both fan and air con.... More

Situated in a quiet corner within walking distance from the bus terminal and the night market. Basic clean room with attached bathroom and hot showers. Charming little garden to enjoy the breakfast. Breakfast is not included though, but they served great american breakfast and home-made yogurt with fruits and honey. More

Cleanest rooms we found so far in Thailand. We paid 300 bath for a garden vieuw room with fan. Good value for a good room. Be sure to check out the Surinam restaurant around the corner. Good food and nice people! More

We arrived in Chiang Rai early April. First we stayed in a luxurious guesthouse, beautifull old house, but since we did not feel at home there, we searched for another place. We found Baan Bua Guesthouse and immediately at the first contact it felt good. We stayed in this guesthouse for 5 nights. Originally we planned to stay 2 or... More

Good things: - The owner and all the staff are very nice and helpful. - The American breakfast is excellent for Thailand. That means it is better than in most Thai places but still not as good as in Europe. Bad things: - Not all rooms have wifi. You need to take a room close to the office for that.... More

Close to the downtown bus station (2nd bus stop in downtown) and definitely within easy walking distance...and only 300 baht per night! Spotless rooms but quite small; some larger rooms are also available but more expensive (500 Baht). Nice quiet garden and very close to the center of town. We found fantastic breakfast options just a block north (turn right... More

Rates are now at b300, 400, 500. normally what comes of being featured in LP. Its a great place to stay in, on a small street behind the main road. From bus terminal, turn right to traffic light. You'll see Boots on your right and The Pizza Co across from it. Walk in that direction till you hit a small... More
