We stayed for three nights at the Karama Lodgde. The facilities in the lodge were very nice. The bathroom was good, the bed was nice and everything was clean. The staff is also really friendly and the food is amazing. We had great food all the time! The only downside is the noise of the dogs at night. We brought... More

We spent a night at the Karama Lodge before going to Ngorongoro. When we arrived at the hotel around 8 pm, we could hear very loud music. We asked the staff whether this was going to last long and they said there was a bar/disco in the village below the hotel and it would depend on the mood of the... More

i stayed two nights pere/post a 5 day safari. having read some poor reviews i was a little anxious. However it was ereally perfect. Of course there were the night noises of monkeys and dogs but otherwise very pesceful. The food was excellent, the service and friendliness of the staff also excellent. The cabins were fun, comfy and secure .... More

After returning to Arusha all we wanted was a nice shower and to relax and Karama was just the ticket. There is what looks like a lovely pool there but we were back too late to try it. Our balcony on the front of our hut was perfect, the bed was comfortable and the food was hearty. Especially the breakfast... More

I just spent several nights at this unique lodge in Arusha, and I could not have been more pleased with the accommodations and the service. The beds are extremely comfortable, the food at the restaurant is very good, they have pretty reliable electricity and hot water supply (considering that this is Tanzania), and wifi in all the rooms. But without... More

We stayed one night on two occasions, pre- and post-safari. Bar and restaurant really excellent, service equally good. Room quirky but fine - shower iffy, lights even more so; tellingly, they provide a torch! Good, fun place to be with pleasant atmosphere. It can be noisy at night - dogs, disco (not on site!) but we were pretty knackered so... More

Stayed here for 3 nights after arrival in Tanzania to enjoy Arusha and a cultural program tour. Nice lodges spread around on against a hill. Can be noisy at night because of the bush babies but also dogs from downside the village. Rooms are cosy and charming with nice terrace and enough space. The bar and restaurant and great in... More

Mixed feelings about this place. An interesting room, but the hotel seemed expensive for the value and location we got. A bit sleepy, but it was a great place to recharge before starting on our safari. Definitely better than the large corportae glass and airconditioned buildings (Impala) that we passed on the way here. Really nice staff at breakfast...

I have worked in Tanzania hospitals and clinics since 2006, and often have to stay in Arusha. I did not like staying in Arusha, because it is very congested and full of tourists. Most of the hotels are pricey and not very good. Then I found the Karama Lodge, and now I am always happy when my assignments are in... More

We got into Kilimanjaro on a late international flight and stayed here before embarking on our safari - this is about an hour from the airport and outside of town...but not so far outside that you don't have music, barking dogs, etc. so do pack earplugs! I would not have been able to rest here without them! There is a... More
