There is not much choice in the area and the questionmark is whether the traveller should rather stay in Taipei or not. Monarch plaza is only 20 mn from the airport which is the only advantage. This was a good hotel. I hear it is one of the nicer ones in this area. It did have the unforunate experience of being the hotel following my nights at the Shagnri-la in Tai Pei. That alone could have made a very good hotel appear only good. Still, it worked for the one night we were there for business.

The Monarch Plaza in Taoyuan very good hotel close to the airport. Value for money, clean and with a very good accomodation. There is a swimming pool with sauna and a fitness center in the 4th floor and it is free of charge.
