During our private tour of Gyeongju in December 2011 we stayed five nights ( Dec. 17-21) in the Commodore. Overall we did have mixed feelings about the place but by the end of our stay we decided the good points did somewhat outweigh the bad points. First the good points. Though there are five or six hotels along the coastline... More

Contrary to some reviews, my adult daughter and I liked this hotel, especiall compared with some other places we stayed in the country. The room we had was large enough and there was with a view of the lake. The furnishings were a bit dated but adequate and the beds comfortable. The internet worked with the cable that was supplied... We stayed here as part of a three day private tour of the region and its historic sites. The location overlooking the lake was initially promising, but our room overlooking the car park, main road and fake watermill was dingy, small, musty and incredibly hot. We complained and were, amazingly, shown even worse rooms. The staff made it obvious that... More

What a disappointment! Never was the term "resort hotel" so badly abused. Our cramped, dingy room at the Commodore had substantial water damage on the ceiling, carpet & walls. The water in the overly small bathroom ran a really creepy shade of yellow. Though it was the first week of September & blazing hot, the pool was inexplicably closed "for... More

Pros: 1. OK breakfast buffet available. 2. Serviceable and edible room service menu Cons: 1. The few room service dishes barely fit on the one tiny table in the room. 2. Not only no *free* internet access ... no internet access at all. 3. Never saw bug spray on a night table before.

My guidebook said that this hotel had been renovated in 2008. The room I was in was certainly not! As said in other reviews, the carpet was stained (and sticky to bare feet), the air conditioning did not really cool the room and the bath was for sure not two years old. Location is kinda nice, although a bus ride... More

Don't know why this hotel is rated a 5-star; it is a 1 at best. Hotel lobby is large and not inviting; there isn't even a place to sit! The carpets throughout the hotel are dirty and the walls in the hallways are dirty and need to be painted. The bathroom is very small. They won't turn on the AC... More

Stayed here in Dec 09. I didn't book in advance, my tour bus picked a family from this hotel and I thought it was nice area so I called and booked a room for that night. Check in okay, they've made a copy of my passport. After the sunset, the area was so bored, it was very dark at the... More

The hotel seems nice from the outside. The reception was friendly. The lobby looked fit for a five star hotel. However, our room was TERRIBLE. We got a triple, and perhaps they only give them to large tour groups or something, because it was one of the shabbiest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in my entire life, and I've... More
