Ok, so there was no water, and the electricity was intermittent, but the rooms were clean and the view is stunning! It's close to gorgeous walks and waterfalls and we had a fantastic guide who took us on a fantastic wall through traditional villages. Its definitely not the most luxurious accommodation, but the grounds and view make up for it

We stayed in Sembulan Luang (fab town - very untouristy and very welcoming) and then drove over to Senaru with our guide. The hotel was very nice - the location is incredible with rice fields to your left, a huge green gorge in front of you and a massive waterfall to your right - all in view from the restaurant.... This price of 450.000Rp for a room with hot water is ridiculous. For this price you can have much more in Senggigi! Tip: stay in senggigi and organise your tour there. They will pick you up at your hotel for the rinjani trekking.
