On the plus side - location location location.Main Street Ubud gives you immediate access to the market, the palace, local dance, the Lotus and Luna cafes, Starbucks and great shops. This hotel is small enough to give you the chance to meet other guests - many of whom are long time regulars. It is very Balinese with a lovely garden.The... More

Great central hotel. Close to markets etc. Lovely authentic rooms and beautiful gardens, both in hotel and royal palace next door. Staff extremely pleasant to deal with over internet and at hotel. Rooms are quiet big but value for money. Bathrooms very spacious. We had atwin room at back of hotel complex. Just basic services available. Pool was nice and... More

Just returned from a stay at Puri Saraswati. The location was great--very conveniently located in the center of all that is happening in Ubud. Setting is gorgeous--next to a temple and very beautiful eating area and pool area. Staff left much to be desired, especially the older staff. They seemed worn and tired of their jobs. A few of the... More

Staying at the Puri Saraswati for my 1st visit to Indonesia was a beautiful introduction to the country. This is a very special place to stay - it's in the Royal palace gardens with authentic architecture of individual bungalows all with their private verandahs. It's quiet, as it's set away from the main road, but in a very convenient location with... I'm not sure if we had the dodgy room and there were better rooms but my sister and I stayed here on Friday 11 November and it was just terrible. The main problem was the windows had been glued shut, there was no ventilation what so ever in the bungalow and it smelt like urine. The air conditioner didn't work... More

I didn't feel safe with only a thin piece of wood holding the door closed. There was a big crack in the traditional wooden door that let Mosquitos in. Linen stained but clean. Overpriced.

we stayed for a week in March'11 and absolutely loved it. Everyone was so kind and generous and realy made us feel welcome. The rooms are well dimensioned and very nice. The place is an absolute oasis of serenity in the centre of busy Ubud. The gardens and the Temple right next door are well worth a visit. Cant wait... More

Excellent accommodation in a lush surrounds. Though the bathrooms are tiny and a little tired-looking (there are obvious sign of wear and tear), the main bedrooms are excellent with huge, firm beds, generous windows and excellent mini wrap-around balconies to relax on or eat a meal. Wifi—like many places in Ubud—is completely unreliable. There are days where it just didn't... More
