If you like greenery, this is the place for you, the rooms are really nice, ut be prepared for bugs, tropical, humid, green....bugs. They set up some kind of mosquito coils outside your room at night... It is very interesting architechture, breakfast good, I found the check in staff a bit stuffy, but oh well... Ubud town is actually a... More

This hotel was established as a guesthouse in 1928 by a German artist,Walter Spies. There are now about 70 thatched dwellings, each named after a local artist, perched on a steep valley side running down to the river Wos.The gardens are beautiful with several ponds and two swimming pools. There are many steep steps as a result and anyone with a mobility problem... We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our Honeymoon. We had come up from 5 nights in Kuta and it was such a nice change. It's so lovely and quiet here, and to wake up to the sound of the river was heaven (our room was down the bottom). For what we paid I wasn't expecting such a... More

Not the place to go if you have mobility issues or are adverse to climbing stairs as there are many. That aside, this place is lovely, set in the side of a mountain overlooking a valley. Basic, but lovely rooms with authentic Balinese doors. We had 3 rooms booked out and two of our party requested to move due to... More

On first impressions, this hotel looks lovely, but, then you step inside. Amenities. VERY basic. No TV. No coffee making facilities in room. (When asked about this, I was told "We no do that here."). No mini bar. Staff. The women seemed angry about something the whole time. They should learn how to smile. The men were friendly enough, but... More

If you only like a rubber stamp hotel room and resort as found anywhere in the world this is not for you. If you want a completely different experience to the norm you should try this. Whilst right on the main road, once inside the resort you are in a jungle/rainforest and the outside world is forgotten. Rooms are of... More

Dear Mr. Gusti Dwipayana, Tonight, my friend and I had a massage at 7:00 p.m. in the Tjampuhan Spa. It was by far the worst experience I have had in a spa ever. I don't mean in Bali, where all spas are superior. The Tjmapuhan Spa is really a disaster. Let me explain: I was asked to come 15 minutes... More

I cant decide about this hotel. We stayed with a group of 40 of us, definitely not a suitable location for groups, very much a quiet romantic getaway. Saying that the road noise is far from quiet and is present 24 hours a day. We asked to be moved after our first night as we were awake all night. The... More
