After weeks of hotel research and emails back and forth, we finally came accross Villa Chempaka on Agoda. This hotel was indeed the perfect find and exceeded our expectations! The reception area is very simple but wait til you see the rest! The villa has 10 private and beautiful Balinese style cottages with attached bathrooms, A/C, ceiling fans, safe boxes... More

I stayed here 5 years ago and had very fond memories. This time l came with my parents for 4 nights. It is still the same relaxing, informal property. The staff are lovely and just gently go about their business but are there to help if needed. Nice to retreat here after a hetic day out. The bungalows are a... More

This was a very well maintained, peaceful oasis from the bustle of the main streets in Ubud. Situated so close to Monkey Forest Rd, yet views of the rice paddy fields from the villa balcony gave it a rural feel. The staff were lovely, and the rooms kept very clean and welcoming, with a lovely red hibiscus flower on the... More

Stayed here two times 2011 and 2012 for a couple of days because of the quiet location and the great view on a ricefield and the sunset. Spacious rooms with an Indonesian touch, friendly staff. The pool is more a plunge pool but is okay. In the evening you can sit on your balcony and listen to the sounds of... More

Villa Chempaka is located within easy walking distance of Ubud township, yet has a rural feeling looking out into rice paddies and far enough back from the noise of motorbikes on the main streets. Set in beautiful tropical gardens. The villas are well appointed, each with private balconies on which the included breakfast is served. Airconditioning and fans very effective.... More

We stayed 4 nights in September 2012 and were more than happy with the location on Jalan Bisma... no more than 10 minutes strol up to Jalan Raya. I will add here that other reviewers have said you can short cut through Nicks Pension...you can not as we were stopped by the grounds staff and told residents only. There is... More

Short stay (8 days), marred by me becoming quite ill on day 3. Villa Chempaka staff organised room cleaning to fit around me, called a doctor for me, and anxiously enquired about my health. Smiling peaceful people.

Dated, old accommodations. Not sure what a prison mattress feels like, but this has got to be from the same manufacturer. Breakfast - just average. Villa does not provide bottled water, but 'boiled from an artesian well'. In other words, we had to go buy our own bottled water. Some good: Staff was friendly and professional. Location was excellent for... More

I stayed here for 6 nights recently. The villas are single storied so you don't have any noise from upstairs, they have a nice balcony to sit out on. The villas look out onto a few rice fields. You can find villas with nicer views but you will have to go out from ubud further. The villas are spacious and... More

This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in for many years. The location is 10 mins walk to Monkey Forest and Ubud’s main street, but it feels like it’s off the beaten track. If arriving by taxi, make sure the driver gets the right place, as the sign says Villa Cempaka and the house number is not the same as... More
