After reading the reviews on this hotel we had great expectations and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is a old plantation house, decorated beautifully with antiques. All very spacious. It is also very well located in old Kochi which makes it handy to walk around to most sites. The breakfast, lunch and dinners we took at the hotel were certainly... More

Le Colonial is built in the heritage style and well decorated with antique furniture. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean and there is a good choice of room type. The swimming pool was also clean and a nice place to relax. Very picturesque to sit around and have breakfast/tea as well. If you take the room that overlooks it,... More

We got to Kochi after a long drive and the Manager was there to greet us. However she left the the following day, leaving a full hotel: does it makes sense? This small hotel has a dutch colonial feel and is well decorated and equipped. Bathrooms are good. More attention was put on decoration rather than practicality. One night there... More

Just got back from 3 weeks in South India and Le Colonial was the sweetest surprise. It's a block or so from the center of the action, which is good. Brunton's Boatyard and a few others put you right in the chaotic center. It's worth it to stay a block further away, believe me. As for the hotel, it's a... More

Highly overrated - although the property is well decorated - there were stains on the bed cover and bed sheets torn. We booked one of their most expensive rooms -sold to us as a suite- jan van spell - for a special family celebration for new year. The room was no suite - just a large room with two beds... More

we stayed here over new years eve and wanted a relaxed, chilled out place. This is a small property with just 8-10 rooms; each room is different and has its own character. The property is an old house (apparently the oldest house in India) built in 1508 and renovated beautifully keeping the old character and giving it the new luxury... More

We were outbooked here from the Malabar House after they had overbooked us. We arrived at 5am to be greeted warmly by staff who had been up half the night for us! The charming Director and her staff couldn't do enought for us. Dinner was a selection of different local dishes including some lovely red snapper and was delicious. The... More

Of our trip to South India, this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. The director made you feel you were staying a her private home, and you felt home away from home. There is nothing else to add : anyone going to Cochin and not staying there has wasted his trip! This hotel just made me regret... More
