Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Exceptional stay with the best hospitality! I stayed at Daku resort for 5 nights for a solo vacation. I highly rate Daku and had a great experience here. The views are absolutely stunning- the resort is right across from the ocean with beautiful tropical gardens surrounding the property. The food was delicious and varied, I opted to get my meals included with my stay and was really impressed with the standard and value offered. One of the reasons I chose to stay at Daku is that I was able to make use of their Yoga Shala- I spent a lot of my time here it's a lovely space with breathtaking views. They run regular courses in art, yoga, singing and diving at the resort- I didn't participate but it was a great way to get chatting to people from different walks of life! Most notably the hospitality at Daku was second to none -as a woman travelling alone I felt very safe and well looked after. The resort owners and staff went out of their way to make me feel welcomed, they helped to show me around the area and gave great advice to find the best beauty spots in the area! 10/10

Daku is where you will meet many of those amazing people who understand what it means to seek and discover. Travellers who somehow instinctively know that there is more to travel than simply lazing about the pool drinking overpriced pin-a coladas at an overpriced luxury holiday resort. Daku is where real travellers gather to share their tales of discovery. And JJ, Delia and the Daku team have got it down to a fine art to ensure that their guests come first and they will go the extra mile to keep their guests happy. Daku is a happy place. Daku delivers! Thanks for a great stay. I will be back!

Only stayed two nights Fri & Sat. But it was a good experience. The food was amazing at every meal we had. All the staff were extremely friendly and willing to accommodate everyone. Even though you had your private room, it felt like a community of travellers coming together more than staying at a hotel with strangers.

After an overnight flight from Melbourne on Christmas eve followed by short flight in a terrifyingly small plane, we were greeted at Savusavu airport by our ground transportation arranged by Aubrey from Daku Resort. Beautifully seamless transition from the "airport" to the beautiful resort grounds. We were greeted with a smile by Joshi and were immediately struck by the beauty of the view from the area right outside the door. Upon seeing photos I uploaded to Facebook, friends commented that the colours are so vibrant it almost doesn't seem real. We were then driven to our villa, Infinity Villa aptly named given it feels like you could see forever from our patio and infinity pool (which we spent a fair amount of time in admiring the view and horsing around). The villa itself was perfectly situated with breathtaking views, the 3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms suited my family of 4 (2 teenagers) just perfectly. It was very tidy and comfortable, nothing super fancy, but not lacking in any modern amenities either (except WiFi). That evening we joined the owners, JJ and Delia (who could not be more lovely) and a few other guests for a delicious Christmas feast. It was like joining a family dinner and being welcomed like family. Just a warm and wonderfully inclusive experience with delicious food and a terrific time had by all. The staff at the resort Joshi, Joe, Mariah, Peggy and Tukai saw to our every need including arranging a 4 wheel drive vehicle (a must in order to get to the villa), scheduling a snorkeling adventure for us that was spectacular and tending to any hiccup at the Villa with expediency. The adventure book at the front desk and the awesome insight from local Fijian team at Daku made it so that we did not miss out on any must-see adventures / sites. Delia and I went on a gorgeous morning hike around the property which while providing spectacular views, definitely tested my fitness level! JJ and Delia also hosted my family for an outstanding dinner showcasing Fijian specialties and a stuffed chicken breast which on its own would be worth going back for. We could not have asked for a better experience than the one we had at Daku Resort!!

An excellent stay at a v reasonable price point. Comfortable accommodations, amazing views & ambience, spacious area with full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room, and huge outside balcony facing the ocean just steps away with furniture and a plunge pool. A great vacation stay and place to base out of to explore all that this part of Fiji has to offer.

Super comfortable, great food, great hosts and great location. Our family had a fantastic time! We spent 3 days here on our Fijian holiday and had a lovely time. Staying in Bula 5 was comfortable for our entire family (2 young kids and 2 adults). Food was tasty and kids loved the pool!

Visited Savusavu and spent some time diving and fishing with Immersion Fiji. Daku is an affordable, clean and scenic little resort. The staff are super friendly. We brought fish back to the resort several times and the chef cleaned and cooked the fish for our dinner! The owners, JJ and Delia, will get around most afternoons catching up with guests and making you feel at home.

Exceptional! Great staff, delicious food, the owners are so welcoming, the view is serene. The only down side is getting there. Also use repelant if you have thin blood unless you want to be mozzie meal. Highly recommend you fly rather than go by boat.

I really enjoyed my stay at Daku, the resort is located on the ocean front and the facilities were good for a short stay. The staff were lovely and were always ready to assist with any enquiry with enthusiasm and a smile. It is located close to town and walking distance to the chocolate factory with snorkeling across the road. Very quiet and a good chance to experience Fiji without a crowd.

Daku Resort is a breath of fresh air amongst the bland, cookie-cutter resorts that we all assume to represent Fiji accurately. It is fantastic to experience real people, real customs and dare I say, the real Fiji. The accomodation is simple but comfortable. The staff are generous, friendly and very helpful. The views are glorious and the fruit is fresh. I was leading a painting retreat and myself and my students all had a very productive week and experienced village life and a waterfall visit that will remain in the memory banks forever. Highly recommended.
