This must be the worst hotel I had ever stayed at in my life, and I do travel extensively. I stayed here in a packaged Holy Land Tour. At first glance, the hotel seemed quite quaint and OK. However, as we got to our room everything went downhill from there. 1. There was a terrible stench coming from the bathroom.... More

One of the most run-down hotels we stayed in. Shower stalls are so cramped, beds have very itchy sheets, staff at the restaurant cannot give change for your money for your beverage orders and the bathroom fixtures are so grimy. If you are doing the St. Catherine-Moses mountain tourist bit, you are better off checking-in hotels a few hours away... More

At the foot of the mountains of Sinai, remote and far from the city, I was ready for the worst accommodation from what I read and heard. It seems Morgenland is the best in that area. Fortunately we were booked in a clean and nice room. Most of the rooms are at the ground floor open area, outside the reception... More

Stayed here for 1 night to see the monastery of st catherine. They have a large shallow pool but the sides are full of grime. Rooms were quite big - no need for aircon as the valley is quite cool-cold. Shower was a bit small but ample :p. for some reason the cafeteria only accepts us$ which is a bit... More

Stayed here after nights in desert Reminds us of russian hotel in 1970s,rooms were filthy ours looked like someone had had a dirty protest on the windows . Electrics/shower/heat in room did not work. Slept in our sleeping bags At meals made to sit at tables with unrelated persons as saved them tidying more tables then had to ,food poor... More

Been to other hotels in St. Catherine area but Morgenland Village Hotel is greatest among them - no other better choice...... Rooms have big space, staff are friendly. Need to fix room doors and toilet flush. Food - same limited selection. Highly recommend that all served food are cooked.. and avoid salads. Tourist are not used to the way the... More

This could very easily be a superb hotel. The surroundings are (literally) awesome and the buildings and furniture are fine - but the standard of cleanliness is very poor. When we moved into our room we found items such as a used bandage and a hank of hair lying around, and we had to use lots of bottled water to... More

the hotel surrounding is rustic and i like the magnificent mountain view from the poolside.. this is the hotel's redeeming factor. with so many guests around, the restaurant seemed small and too loud.. perhaps they are understaff as they fail to clean tables immediately so other guests can use it.. the room where we checked in is not that comfortable..... We checked the TripAdvisor ratings for this hotel before staying here. When we arrived, we discovered good news and bad news: The good -- The surroundings are scenic and dramatic. High mountains, including Mount Sinai. The hotel grounds are attractive, with a large beautiful pool. And the bedroom was better than we expected, sparsely furnished but clean, freshly painted and... If you wish to go to Mt Sinai, this is the only place to stay in the area. The hotel is just a run down 2 star hotel with half a dozen shops. The only place to eat is the restaurant and it's just OK - nothing special. It's only redeeming feature is the nice pool to give you some... More
