We went there for 1 day but stayed there for 7 - because we were so amazed by the place. The nature around is incredibly beautiful, but the real treasure is the people. Traveling around Egypt we faced many difficulties. While almost all ordinary Egyptians are very nice, hospitable and kind people, as a tourist you´ll probably meet mostly the... More

I stayed a week in 2011 (see earlier review i will not repeat it) and could hardly wait to return. I had started in Jordan doing the tourist route: Madaba-Dead Sea-Petra-Wad Rum. Decided against the ferry Aquaba/Neweiba because it does not seem dependable. Glad because Wadi Rum-Sawacamp was only 3hrs door-to-door via Israel, straightforward and about the same cost as... More

On the way to Sawa we saw other beach camps along the way and were a little worried. When we arrived though, any worries were quashed. You first enter the large living area where you eat or just relax. It’s lovely with a thatched roof, vines hanging down and areas with cushions on the floor around low tables. If you... More

I spent a week here mid December 2011. I had a 'use or lose' week from work and was looking for sunshine without being in a modern tourist complex. This was perfect for me. I loved my rustic hut with its colourful mats, matress and mosquito net inside and hammock outside. By day I could enjoy the sea view, walk... More

Stayed here two nights and one day (American Thanksgiving!) as part of an Intrepid tour. While accomodations were rustic, it was very comfortable. I stayed in a hut that had a concrete floor covered with braided mats. The bed was a foam mattress with a mosquito net around it. With my sleeping bag I was comfortable. If it was warmer... More

I stayed one week and loved every second. The huts are large and right on the beach, with mattress and mosquito nets. If you are looking for a relaxed away-from-it-all location you cannot beat this! Food is terrific, really excellent and reasonably priced. Whilst 'basic' it has everything I wanted and the maintenance of the property is good. Showers/Toilets are... More

A laid back relaxing place to rest. It is an eco friendly place, with very basic bungalows right on the shores of the red sea. Snorkel, dive, play pool or beach volley ball, lay in your hammock or just sit amongst the cushions under the thatched rec area and read. Shared toilet and showers in a separate block, one of... This is a lovely camp that is a little hard to find on the road between Nuweiba and Taba.. Strange area. Lots of half-built camps and hotel/resorts. Its still suffering from the fallout from Israeli occupation/withdrawal. Because Israeli tourists dont come anymore, a lot of projects have stalled and you can see it. Thankfully Sawa Camp is fine. Mainly Brits,... More

Sawa camp is a beautiful, basic camp on the Sinai. The basic bungalows are exactly what you need for a beach vacation. The beach is pristine and when you go into the water you will see the most amazing fish (better than I ever saw in the Caribbean). The staff are always there to help you with any need. They... More

Sawa Camp is amazing and Salama is an incredibly welcoming and laid back host.  It is basic, but that is why you go to a camp after all. The beds are very comfy and properly netted and every hut is on beautiful white sand with a hammock. We were lucky enough to get a front row hut about 6 metres... More
