We (self, wife, adult son) stayed here 5 nights beginning of Feb 2012. The buildings in bamboo are beautiful and the accommodation/ cabanas very nice. We used the swimming pool each day and of course it's right on the ocean. The staff were friendly and mostly tried to be helpful. The prices for accommodation and meals were quite reasonable (particularly... More

If you're looking for a break from everything in a little piece of paradise, then Alandaluz is for you. This ecolodge is built on the beach with great care taken to preserve the natural habitat of the area. The log cabanas are excellent quality for their price, and the cocktail Alandaluz is outstanding. The restaurant is simple with delicious food... More

We stayed at Alandaluz for 4 nights in November - the cloudy/rainy season. Although there is a small pool, the weather was much too cold for us to use it or even to swim in the sea. The main building (restaurant and communal area and reception) is a beautifully constructed bamboo and palm leaf structure open round the sides. The... More

I spent a month on a volunteer there. Basically it is an ecovillage built entirelly on bamboo and their athmosphere is so special it makes the Hosteria an ideal place for honeymoons in that zone of the country. They've got a restaurant specialist on ecuatorian food. There's a dish called "Viudo" ( widow) served inside a bamboo sprout...really unique. The've... More

Alandaluz is an amazing, peaceful place. I stayed in a 3-room cabin with hammocks, a composting toilet, a comfy bed for $29, which is more expensive for Ecuador, but well worth the peace, quiet, beautiful beach, landscape, pool, etc. I would go back there again!

The cabañas are very nice, but expensive, the cheapest at 29. The grounds show signs of neglect, and the beach has litter on it only about 30 metres from the path out from the complex. I didnt find it a friendly place at all, it felt empty and the service wasnt that good either, considering what you are paying. The... More

This hotel is beautiful, was clean, interesting, eco-friendly, etc. Very cool place to stay. It feels like everything is open to the jungle and bats will literally fly in overhead while you're eating breakfast in the dining room; however, this means the human animals can also come in. I almost hate to write this review, because I know it will... More

We were disappointed because they are proud to be an eco lodge. There is nothing eco about this lodge (eg. energy saving lamp only at the reception, they sell corals and shells in the shop ...). The service was poor and a general lack in motivation was obious. No internet but a contract with the german mass tourist agency Neckermann.... More

We found this to be a unique beachfront accomodation ~ in general we found the resort to be very clean and well kept and trying hard to do the right thing environmentally speaking. All staff we had contact with were lovely and helpful. the pounding of the surf created a wonderful environment and the food, while perhaps not fabulous was... More

Even though the place overall was very nice, I had the worst experience in the Santa Rosa cabins. There`s no privacy at all in the bathroom (no curtains in the windows), and we had rodents eating on whatever they could find (including one of our backpacks), I even found excrements right next to our toothbrushes. It`s a shame, because we... More
