We had thought initially that we were staying at the Red Mangrove Hotel but on closer inspection of our itinerary we saw that it was the Red Mangrove Santa Cruz Divers Lodge we had been booked into. It was hard to find, even our taxi driver had no idea where it was and delivered us to the Hotel instead! It... More

This hotel is in a convenient area of Puerto Ayora. It does not have scenic views or oceanfront breezes as does its sister property, but it is less than a 5 minute walk to the Red Mangrove Aventura lodge. The good: The staff were friendly. The breakfast was decent. The decor from the outside of the hotel was interesting and... More

We stayed two separate nights at the Santa Cruz Divers lodge in two different rooms as part of a Red Mangrove tour (full tour report at http://http://nmcgalapagos.blogspot.com/) The rooms were equipped with a kitchen area with a sink, a television, a mini fridge with drinks and snacks available for purchase, a clock radio with iPod dock and an air conditioner... We were on a Friendly Planet tour (www.friendlyplanet.com) tour to the Galapagos and this is where they placed us for the first leg of our journey. See our review for the Red Mangrove Adventure Lodge. This is a quaint little lodge a few blocks from the wharf, and the Charles Darwin Research Center. It has a breakfast nook, but you... More

We stayed at the Santa Cruz Divers Lodge a total of two nights on our Friendly Planet/Red Mangrove Island Express tour. We loved it! The place was so small and intimate it felt more like a B&B. Such a gem hidden away from the hustle of town and marina! Rooms were spacious and well equiped. Well if I had a... More

The Diver's Lodge is the "poorer cousin" to THE marquee Red Mangrove Lodge. It is a few blocks away from the Lodge and although not on the main road it is just a few blocks from Santa Cruz' main street. The exterior is cheerfully and colorful decorated with tiles and quite lovely. The "pool" is actually more like a small... More
