We expected much more from the superior suite in this hotel. I would say it was like 2star hotel. Renovated probably 30 years ago. You should wait for 10 minutes for water to become warm. Then the water from the floor in the shower will go away only after 1 hour. Then room services took away our half-empty water bottles.... More

On weekends, there are discos within a block of hotel that go on until 2 am. Hotel does not have double glazed windows so you hear the noise as well as cars, trucks and buses (which you hear during the week as well). Very inefficient front desk. No computer for guest use (although we were told it would be repaired... More

Definitely special and from a by-gone age. If you like these kind of places, the Nutibara's not be missed if you are touring downtown Medellin. Impossible to not be struck by the high-style of the place, from the Deco entrance and portico to the original fittings in the lobby: the Hotel really stands out in this neighborhood littered with '60s... We stayed 2 weekend nights in this classic hotel in center Medellin. Nutibara is apparently the oldest hotel in Medellin when it started out as a 5 star venue for the upper class. Entering the hotel feels somehow like traveling back in time. The faded elegance of the huge reception lobby, the always helpful and smiling staff dressed up in... More

A first glance at the Hotel Nutibara brings forth images of faded glory. It features an art deco exterior that is badly in need of a good sandblast, a lobby that was probably posh in the 1940's and dated rooms that try oh so hard to exude a sense of elegance, yet fall well short of the mark. The Hotel... More

I am currently living in Miami, but Medellin is my home town, it is where my family is from and where I went to college. My family lives one hour away from Medellin and I had some business to attend to in the city so I decided to stay at the Hotel Nutibara since it is strategically located in down... More

I was pretty disappointed with this hotel. We paid about 120 dollars for a night here, which for Colombian standards is quite high. The rooms were very outdated, walls were dirty, bathroom was like something out of a 1920's tenement building. The shower door was completely rusted. The swimming pool was to be one of the pluses at this hotel,... More

We stayed at this Hotel twice, 3 weeks apart. Our first trip in we discovered that the hotel did not have airport shuttle as Expedia had described, since we had booked though Expedia I blame that on them. 25 Dollars from the International Airport, but it is almost an hour ride. Apart from that, the front desk and the concierge/staff... More

Upon arriving at the hotel, one of my 3 suitcases was stolen while I waited for the door guard to unlock the door to the lobby. Hotel security cameras showed me entering the hotel with only 2 suitcases, but the cameras did not show what happened on the hotel porch. I strongly suspected the door guard, in conjunction with a... Hotel nutibara used to be one of the best hotels in the city. if im not mistaken the hotel almost went bankrupt some years ago, but the staff make a deal with the owners to keep it running.
