Compared to some china hotels this rated better than a lot. Clean but situated away from old Suzhou and not many places to eat nearby. If you just want somewhere reliable to stay in the area this hotel is fine

Grand lobby for a 4 star hotel. They have a lobby bar that offers buy one take one at happy hours. The surrounding garden is awesome and the hotel has huge glass windows to show the view even from your room. It should have been perfect if not for the musty bedroom. My husband and I visited the Bamboo Grove Hotel as part of out China Highlights Tour with Kuoni for 2 nights in September 2011. We stayed here in October 2011 for two nights. The hotel was excellent, spacious bedroom, very plush public areas, and a really nice garden. There was a small bar area, with reasonable prices (including a happy hour), with entertainement also. The resteraunt was also very spacious, with an excellent breakfast.

This is an Ok hotel. A little outdated but served its' purpose. Buffet breakfast is only fair. Free wifi in lobby. Nice little shopping store inside. Massage service was Ok. Singing and piano entertainers in lobby bar were great. I would consider again.

No China feeling at all. This hotel might have 4 stars 10 years ago, but they haven’t done anything about maintenance since that time. This was the third stay at Bamboo Grove in 4 years. I was originally put on 5th floor - AC didn't work well and just not a nice room. I changed to Emerald Club - 3rd floor. You get some amenities such as free drinks 6-8pm. Newspaper, Free Internet, PC available and printer for free use and a limited food... More
