Stayed here for the May Bank Holiday. Excellent location - central downtown and not particularly noisy. Rooms are modern and fairly large with King size beds. The staff on reception were pleasant with adequate English spoken. It's a funky hotel with themed lifts and the shower is glass panelled with a forest impression. The room was rather warm and I... We stayed in two rooms, in two days. 50m away from the famous Guangqian Street, this hotel is not well known for the taxi driver. But it has clean and spacious room, good breakfast buffet, friendly staff(especially Eric), and relatively cheap. Room WIFI has satisfactory speed. ps. The bathroom wall consists of transparent window.

We booked for three days via cTrip. Location was excellent, close to the pedesrian street. The room was a standard size with good qualty fittings but it was our first experience of the disconcerting practice in some China hotels of clear glass walls on the bathroom and toilet with zero personal privacy. We tried to get a room with obscure... More

Just back from 4 weeks in China and this wins the best hotel of the trip. Staff is very helpful, location excellent, room was great. Good buffet breakfast. And at the price we paid it was an excellent value. Would go back; highly recommend.

We stayed at four hotels during our two week trip, and this was my favorite. The design had personality; location was great; breakfast was good, extensive, and included; staff were quite helpful and English proficient; price was very reasonable; and Suzhou is a good place to spend time. The hotel is located adjacent to a major shopping street and walking... More

The best part of the hotel is its location which is in historical district of Suzhou. Around the hotel, a lot of shops, departments and many historical restaurants in the old downtown. Some restaurants in front of Xuanmiao temple are existed from Qing Dynasty and provided famous Suzhou dish you have to taste. (ex. Songshu Guiyu, Biluo Xia Ren -Shrimp)... More

Our stay at Hotel Soul was excellent. We loved the funky concept and our very spacious room with trendy glass bathroom. The hotel looks and feels very new. The included buffet breakfast was great and offered as well western as chinese food. The hotel is just around the corner from the pedestrian streets with plenty of shops and also restaurants.... Because i liked the hotel so much, I was not able to complete my itinerary. The hotel is a fusion of being funky, artistic, modern yet the restaurant excudes class and elegance. It is superbly clean, beds comfortable, breakfast buffet with western and chinese selection. Just a few steps outside and you are in a walking path frequented by locals... More

Pro: This totally made a change from the average Chinese hotel (2 in Shanghai, this in Suzhou and 1 in Nanjing) due to the Phillip Starck wannabe décor (Lonely Planet description) and for the price and location (a very short walk to the main pedestrian shopping street) cannot be argued with. Overall I would consider it the best hotel I... More

Hotel is located in downtown 'old' Suzhou in a side street of Suzhou's famous shopping street Guan Qian street. Apparently, taxi drivers are not very familiar with the location as I could already read from previous reviews. I can confirm this is the case. Taxi driver had to call the hotel for the exact location (was coming from South lon... More
