If you are looking for peace, tranquility, beautiful surroundings, comfort and outstanding hospitality the Cockatoo is a must. Set in lush tropical surroundings the cockatoo resort is a haven of calm, just a stones throw from the centre of Siam Reap and its shops, bars and restaurants. Peter and Virgil are wonderful hosts who helped make our stay all the... More

The Cockatoo is a micro-resort with less than a down rooms which is great for vacation and a quiet escape. The hosts Peter and Virgil was very accommodating and pretty much arranged everything for us including airport transfer and private tour to Angkor Wat. They even hosted dinners for us guests. The resort is near enough to Pub Street and... More

We had the most wonderful long weekend staying at the Cockatoo and would warmly recommend it to anyone who is visiting Siem Reap and looking for a relaxing place to stay. The hotel is located close by the town and in tranquil settings, where you can relax and re-charge your batteries. Peter and Virgil made us very welcome from the... More

I left a noisy dank guest house and checked in here hoping for cool calm. I was so thrilled to see the vibrant green gardens, aqua pool and gorgeous, airy verandahs of the colonial style centre house. The staff are friendly and unintrusive, and more than happy to organise personalized tours and spectacular tasting, fresh cooked meals on request at... More

Hi, I returned to the peace and tranquility of the beautiful town called Siem Reap after having a bad experience in Phnom Penn. I chose to stay with Peter and Virgil of the famed Cockatoo resort. Cockatoo resort and the owners have had tremendous bad luck with the severe floods of last year and they are just getting to grips... More

This is a nice place, with very friendly hosts. We had a good time there and enjoyed the BBQ together with the other guests which was organized by the hosts. However, we found our room quite dark, with small windows... All in all we felt the price was a bit high for the overall quality of the place.

We were visiting siem reap and used trip advisor for local restaurants serving pizza. This one had good reviews but it is definitely out of the way. We had no idea. Must rickshaw drivers didn't want to go out that far but a few agreed for a slightly higher fare. When we got there ur was hidden amongst local houses... More

Not only is the physical hotel comfortable and well-maintained, but the staff and location make this the ideal place to stay while in Siem Reap. I doubt anyone would come to Cambodia and not visit Siem Reap (and its surrounding temples), but if that is your plan, you should rethink and come to Siem Reap, if only to stay at... More

Staying -- and eating -- at the Cockatoo changed our time in Siem Reap from wonderful to way beyond that. Not only are the rooms, the garden, the pool, comfortable, the owners make the you feel even more comfortable. Peter and Virgil are so charming, so easy, so knowledgeable that everything that you ever worry about in travelling melts away.... More

My wife and six month old baby and I stayed here along with friends in early April; a trip away from China during Qingming festival. It was our first trip to Siem Reap and indeed Cambodia. As many other guests have pointed out, Peter and Virgil really make a big effort to help you maximise your time in whatever way... More
