Hostal Charcas is a cheap hostal, centrally located. Good for those on a tight budget that just want a place to sleep. It's very basic, you get what you pay for. I paid BOB40 (around USD6) for a room with shared bathroom. Hard to beat this price.

I stayed in a single room which wasn't the best in the world, but it was reasonably clean. There were some problems with hot water in the showers, which may be annoying in winter months I imagine. The room was a bit stuffy. The staff were helpful and the hotel organises trips to the nearby Tarabuco market on Sundays.
