The hotel is well located and just a lane away from the shopping street. Even though the malls are there,somehow everyone shops on Al fahidi street as you get just about everything. As a place to stay the Ascot Hotel was very comfortable, but nothing special. I enjoyed the Waxy (Irish Pub) down stairs. If you are looking for a holiday Hotel, this is probably not what you are looking for, but for a business trip it's great!

Hotel is in a good location, close to museums, shops and the gold souk. only a 10-15min taxi into town and shopping centers. Hotel was comfortable and definately not what you would expect from a similar star rated hotel in Australia. Staff spoke english well and were helpful with organising lifts and advice. Nightclub/bar in hotel was decent enough.
