The hotel itself is breath-taking and the rooms stunning but even during the booking process the customer service was lacking severely. I should have booked at the Le Meridien at that point, but still wanted to give the Qasr Al Sharq a try. I had to make 5 calls to try and reserve a room with absolutely no help given...

One of the most opulent hotel palaces that have ever been built and certainly appealing to oriental tastes. In spite of the grandezza, there is no feeling of public space inside. One does feel a bit squeezed. Service is a weak for a top luxury hotel. As is typical in Saudi, there are hardly any outside facilities (swimming/bar/restaurant).

As soon as we set foot in the hotel it was one problem after another. Although I did everything possible to avoid such faults but who was I kidding.
Objective:

Oh my, the level of finish is a wealthy potentate's dream. Gold leaf , Italian that, French this totally totally wonderful and honestly Arabic.
I can not fault anything on the room which was a total dream, maybe a bigger flat screen to compensate for the Huge room.
Bathroom perfect, a dream, a private spa.
Parking easy and free.

This proprty is the only 7 star propertly in Saudi Arabia and one of the few in the whole world. It is amazing with both european and Islamic architecture. Its suites are the biggest in the world starting from 200 sq metres and include jacusi,gym, and state of the art ecquipment. You geta 24 hours butler dedicated soley for you....
