Stayed there in May. The place was an oven. The A/C which only worked at times was driven by a generator which was on and off. My room was on the 2nd flour, more like a torture chamber. Friendly stuff (as every where in Myanmar), however the take a cut from the taxi driver they arrange to take u to... More

Good news is that its central, the air con works & best of all you get to swim at the sister hotel - the Hotel at the Red Canal - pool, enjoy their free happy hour & eat at their fantastic Indian restaurant. Mandalay View Inn itself seems to have been at one time a family villa that belonged to... More

The Inn is located in a convenient place near the royal palace and few other attractions are close by. Mandalay air port is more than 20kms away from the city and it takes 45minutes by car. The taxi fair is 15kyats. there are shared taxis operated by a company and it charges 4kyats. But on the return journey it would... More

- There is a mosquito problem in the area so in the evenings, spraying of insecticide indoors was very pungent - Bathrooms are a bit basic, except for a shower curtain there is no proper partition so the bathroom gets wet - Staff spoke passable English but were very helpful when we were trying to purchase tickets for a boat... It is worth paying a little extra to get a room at the back with the bath and a little extra space, if that is what you want. We got fresh towels in the evening which was unexpected and a lovely surprise. Staff were nice and did their best to be helpful. Breakfast was great. An interesting tea house 2... More

Odd name for a hotel with no views at all, some rooms didn't even have windows! My room did, but looked out on to a wall. My room was basic, very small and very dated with lots of dark wood and a green fridge, the bathroom was in need of a lot of renovation and had a strange arrangement where... More

I was somewhat disappointed by this hotel, given the price. The beds were extremely hard, and the sheets were not all that clean. The shower is odd, which other reviewers have mentioned. There is a shower curtain which seperates the bathtub from the shower, but the entire floor is on one level. You would definately want shower shoes here--the hotel... More

I arrived after a hard day of stressful travel experiences. The staff were welcoming, nurturing in fact. I was overwhelmed by their hospitality. Rooms are basic, but furniture and room design are a step above in the midrange category. Bathroom included platform to stand above the draining water and a curtain to contain the shower, leaving the toilet and sink... More

Stayed here for one night. It's not easy to rate this for me, because there were things to like, but plenty not to... The good: I arrived at 3am, on the night bus from Bagan. My room was available and they let me check in, basically giving me half a day for free - very much appreciated. The room was... More

This place is such a perfect fine. It is one of those places where surprisingly within very close proximity you could get a great meal and get started on your day with a blue taxi. I will post a photo of our blue taxi driver because there are several on that corner and he speaks excellent English. The Inn has... More
