Its Ok not really 4 or 5 star just average, the fact it is full of tour groups makes it feel a bit cheap. Everything was just OK nothing special. the hotel prices in Myanmar have increased by a large amount in the past few years, but the quality in the larger hotels does not appeared to have improved much... Mandalay evokes magical childhood memories. Regrettably the Sidona Hotel did not live up to these. Very spacious bedroom, charming service at all times and enjoyable meals in the small restaurant, but we could have been almost anywhere in the world in a 5 x hotel--------apart from the view from our room. Definitely ask for a room looking along one of... More

The room rate was one of the highest in town but those high-prices were common everywhere in Myanmar because of the lack of decent rooms nationwide. But this was a real hotel which has all the facilities we expect for a hotel. The room was a bit worn but clean, spacious and had a good view to the town and... More

Singaporean-managed and thus professionally run, this business hotel overlooking Mandalay Palace impresses us with its service but little else. Popular with tour groups, its rooms are clean but tired with dated furniture, reminiscent of three-star hotels in provincial Thailand and extremely expensive for what they are. You will need transport to get to most must-visit sights and restaurants although fans... More

The Sedona was the only hotel that our travel agent could find for us in Mandalay (we could find absolutely no availability on our own). Based on the TA reviews, we were somewhat apprehensive, but we found the hotel to be a pleasant surprise - above average rooms, excellent service, and good location. We spent the first night on the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on a group tour and were very happy with the hotel, service, rooms and breakfasts. Our room overlooked the pool, was spacious and clean. On our first evening there was a wedding on around the pool, which we thought may disturb us, but everything was finished by 9pm - so no complaints there -... More

Stayed at Sedona Mandalay for 3 nights. Overall think that the hotel was in poor maintenance. First of all, the hotel is old, charge very high and so called the best hotel of whole Mandalay! Brownout for more than 5 times in a day! no hot water, nothing great about the view, where as staying at the 5th floor(top floor).... More

I brought a group here in the winter of 2013 and the staff at the Sedona were incredibly helpful and understanding of our needs. I was working directly with the F&B manager Dirk Kubitschek, who understood exactly what we were looking for to create a special event and dinner for our group. The dinner was beautiful and the staff was... More

I stayed at this hotel for one night on a group tour. The lobby was elaborate and the swimming pool looked nice but the knob to direct the shower came off in my hand and I had to crawl under the faucet to try to wash my hair. Also my room faced an alley with a noisy bar, lots of... More

The pool is large but open with little shade. The recliners are metal and uncomfortable. Rooms are well appointed but some are smoking ones and the smell lingers. The food is much better when the Swiss Executive chef is around and it is very lacklustre when he isn't. Hotel has cocktail happy hour which is a nice way to relax.... More

Dear Castleman073 Thank you for writing us a review. Our rooms are segregated into smoking and non-smoking rooms; we always recommend guests who do not smoke, to let us know of their room preference during the booking process. We will look into improving this experience to prevent this from happening again. We hope you will stay with us again the... More
