I loved this place - as a solo female traveller I wanted to stay inside the city walls - but there aren't many hotels there (alot of hostels and private accomodations though). Fortunately there were no steps to get to the hotel and it was very conveniently located near the main entrance of the town - important if you are... More

A three night stay and thankfully we chose this hotel because its location cannot be faulted. It's just off the main street up one of the small side streets. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing was too much of a problem. There are only eight rooms and at the top is a small terrace with excellent views over the... More

The two of us stayed for 3 nights at the end of the season, and even then the roof terrace was open to enjoy a glass of champagne whilst looking over the old city. The first morning we woke late and had missed breakfast, however the staff were kind enough to make up some trays of coffee, juice and pastries... More

I travelled to Dubrovnik with 3 friends for a long weekend and we booked this hotel (more of a Boutique B&B really) because it was inside of the city walls and reasonably priced. Our expectations were not high as it was only 3* but it was an amazing find. Originally an old house, it has 8 rooms (4 single and... More

We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Stari Grad. The location is wonderful in the Old City of Dubrovnik, especially for a short stay. Our room was quite spacious with comfortable bed and bathroom with nice shower. The patio on the top floor had a beautiful view although the weather prevented us from having breakfast up there. Breakfast... More

We stayed here in late June, 2008. The hotel is centrally located, being only 20 metres or so from the Placa (the main thoroughfare). The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the view from the breakfast room on the roof is spectacular, especially in the early morning or at dusk. The rooms, however, are pretty small.... More

We stayed just one night here at the end of our honeymoon. The location is within the old city walls and that's obviously why the hotel is quite expensive. For that you get a lovely room in a charming building. The rooftop terrace is lovely for breakfast. That said there's not much room and you may have to wait a... More

My wife took me to Dubrovnik as a 50th birthday present, and if it hadn't been a surprise it would have lived up to all my expectations! We stayed at the Stari Grad Hotel in the old town for two nights, the highlight being the roof terrace breakfasts. We planned to drive up to Mostar and then down to Kotor,... More

This is only one of two hotels within the walls of medieval Dubrovnik. If you want to be surrounded by history Hotel Stari Grad is a good choice. It is located on a narrow walkway right off the Stradum, which is the white marbled main! The hotel once was an aristocratic home now converted to hotel use; the rooms are... More

Had 1 night here, and felt we had wasted our money! Room was fine, reception was not particularly friendly though. Breakfast good. For the price, we should have stayed in Lapad, and caught the no 6 bus in to town. This was very reasonable, and very frequent. The town during the day is totally overwhelmed with people, especially from the... More
