Friendly, helpful staff, amazingly clean bathrooms, good free wi-fi link, a lovely communal area with hammocks and view of the volcanos, comfortable beds with sheets changed every day, mosquito screens on the windows, a great free breakfast... I could go on. Surely the best budget option in town. I stayed 6 nights and didn't want to leave!

I have stayed here twice, and found the hostel to be exceptionally clean with friendly staff and super clean and secure rooms. This is an excellent and affordable option in Antigua, you could easily spend a few days here exploring the city and nearby volcanoes. Highly recommended.

This hostel was very clean, and the rooms were excellent (we had a plasma TV with too many channels in ours!). The rooms seemed expensive (Q170 for a double room), but from traipsing around we found that this seems to be about average in the town. The showers were always hot. We were in a downstairs room. There was banging... More

I loved Casa Amarilla! It's seriously the cleanest hostel I've ever been to in Central America. Pretty much every single time I used the bathroom the floors were still a little wet because somebody had just mopped them. The hot shower is amazing! And even in the dorms the sheets get changed every day which in my opinion is not... More

My wife and I stayed there for four nights just to recover from the jet lag of flying overseas! What an incredible place. We seriously can not say enough... the rooms were super clean, the bathrooms were absolutely immaculate...they smelled of bleach every time we went in there, almost as if someone would clean up right after us. They have... More

We stayed in the lovely Yellow House for over a month while taking Spanish classes at a nearby Spanish school and I can't recommend it highly enough! The location is excellent, only a short walk from the Merced church and the main square. The rooms are all clean and tastefully decorated (I would especially recommend the ones on the second... More

My fiance & I stayed here for a total of 5 nights (two separate occasions) during our one month stay in Guatemala. The hostal is well cared for...clean, thriving plants, beautiful decorations, and eco-conscious. We appreciated their use of clay filters for the water rather than plastic bottles. Friendly & helpful staff that really takes pride in the place! Staff... More

Beautiful and warm place, I stayed here on the last night of my trip and wished I had a few more nights just to relax on the rooftop filled with plants, places to sit and travellers swaping travel stories and experiences. The breakfast is very big and delicious. Rooms clean and cozy. If you have someone in the area than... More

We stayed in a couple of Hostals in Antigua prior to staying in Yellow House, and nothing compares! We booked room number 10 with it's own private terrace for almost a month. Yellow House is clean, this is my first priority when looking for places. It also has a great terrace with strong wifi. Breakfast is included and is really... More

Fantastic hostel - you feel really welcome by the staff who are wonderful and friendly. The layout is brilliant, really cosy and relaxed. Everything was clean and rooms were worth their price. They have a large and comfortable lounge area on the roof, facing the volcanoes with hamocks , ideal to meet fellow travelers in the morning or evening. Great... More
