We went during the week and stayed for a couple of days. We treated our aunt and uncle to this amazing experience. We all loved our room. The hotel has done a great job in making their guests feel like royalty. Clean rooms, spacious, very well maintained, it has that antique fancy look so it makes it even better. The... More

We were completely charmed by El Convento. It's housed in beautiful surroundings, with lots of water features, a lovely communal living room, stunning roof terrace with views over the roof tops and beyond to the mountains. It's really peaceful and despite it's central location you feel miles away from anywhere. Our room (Las Rosas) was really spectacular and give you... More

I stayed at this hotel during the Semana Santa and would agree with many of the previous reviewers about the goodness of this property. In addition to the good location, beautifully restored and designed public areas and rooms, I would also add the great foods and service they this hotel offers. Some of the details really make this place stand... More

El Convento is an exceptional boutique hotel, in a great location with walking distance to everything Antigua has to offer. Awesome rooftop patio, beautiful grounds, large, well appointed rooms with super comfortable beds and 46" flat screen/sat TV. The staff is excellent and very friendly. The down side (as every hotel has one) the manager is the "loose" link here.... More

Dear Guest, I am the new appointed General Manager (April 2012), I would like to extend and apologize for the inconveniences during your stay with us. Regarding your comments (The down side (as every hotel has one) the manager is the "loose" link here. Make sure that she has not booked a "private party" during your stay), please accept my... More

El Convento is a small quiet hotel. The rooms are very big and have a feel of real luxury. The breakfast was delicious and the location is very convenient. Perfect for travelers that enjoy small luxury properties. Great beds and beautiful bathrooms. Still maintaining local flavor...loved it.

Beautifully restored hotel with lovely rooms and small individual gardens on our downstairs rooms. We didn't eat in the hotel - there were so many great places in town that were also soo much cheaper. Garden setting around the building was delightful but the American rock music at 7 in the morning was a little disconcerting. Disappointingly the terrace bar... More

My wife and I spent our 15 anniversary in this hotel, in a Suite. The hotel is gorgeous, the doors to the rooms in the first floor are wooden and are carved with different motifs. The hotel has a nice terrace with a gorgeous tree (Tempixque tree) which is lighted at night, great place to have a glass of wine... More

My husband and I reserved our hotel months in advance. We arrived a day early and they were able to accommodate us with the same style room. We paid for a suite with a jacuzzi and private garden. The garden was nice but nothing to brag about. The jacuzzi took 30 minutes to 45 minutes to fill 1/2 way...by that... More

One of the best hotels we stayed during our many worldwide trips. It operates ~2 years so it is not in some of the guides. Beautiful rooms well furnished. The hotel itself is magnificent with 2 patios. Each door on the ground floor rooms, is a unique wood carving. The service was excelent. We stay ther 4 nights and enjoy every... More

I can't imagine finding anywhere nicer to stay in Antigua. The rooms are so cozy and inviting. The fireplaces are a nice touch. All the decor is great and it really feels like the perfect little hideaway.
