Lovely rooms, fabulous breakfast, and great company at the community breakfast table -- this bed and breakfast style inn is an absolute delight! We've stayed there many times and always look forward to going back!

We cannot say enough great things about Marie and the Black Walnut Inn! The Blizzard of 2013 left us without power and literally snowed in so that we had to change our reservation to (tentatively) the next night. Marie was so cool about it and told us not to worry. Spent two nights. Room was beautiful and clean. Had that charming New England feel. The location was perfect. The owners were gracious. The breakfast was excellent. We plan to go back. There is no reason to stay in a local hotel when you can stay here.

This place is so great! Wonderful rooms with good mattresses, very spacious and elegantly appointed, but cozy too, with fires in the stove. The breakfasts are amazing! A wonderful bed and breakfast. Clean, lovely and the breakfast is worth the stay alone. It's a great location for U Mass, Amherst or Hampshire. Can't imagine why anyone would stay in a hotel in the area when they could stay here.

We stayed here two nights to attend a squash tournament at Amherst College. The rooms are very spacious with sitting areas and the rooms are decorated beautifully. The breakfast was delicious. Marie's homemade baked goods were outstanding. Marie and Dan were very friendly and the hard work and the care they put into refurbishing this historic home is clearly evident.... More

The room was charming and spotless, the breakfasts were filled with homemade items (including bacon produced down the road) and the location was right on the #31 bus to UMASS and Amherst College. We would love to stay here again!
