I have stayed in a number of B&B's and this one by far is the best... They are an updated, clean and comfortable home away from home. The attention to details are comparable to a 5***** hotel. The homemade foods are from local merchants. I love that The Inn supports local commerce. Will return there for sure!

I travel periodically to the Amherst area for business, and stay every time at the Black Walnut B&B. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are nice, and the breakfast is magnificent -- who can resist their homemade baked goods? Not me. I'll be back.

Black Walnut Inn has a massive Bed Bug Infestion. When myself & other couples complained at the front desk to Rachael & Marie we were told the exterminator was just there and whatever bugs are probably dead. This b&b is one of the very best my husband and I have had the pleasure of patronizing. The proprietor was charming and took the time to make us feel welcome without being intrusive. Based upon TripAdvisor reviews, spent a night while in town visiting a local college with my son. The location is convenient to schools but it's on a noisy intersection. If I slept with the window closed I wouldn't have noticed the street noise, but I prefer fresh air. The breakfast is excellent. Friendly staff. Will go back.

Last minute trip for the funeral of my beloved Aunt Betty Yaffe. Marie booked the last room available for us and catered to our every need. All of the staff is so welcoming and helpful. We will continue to visit family in Amherst and look forward to future stays at the Black Walnut.

Yes, the other reviews are right: this place is pleasant, it's clean, friendly, detail oriented re: room amenities while not going overboard. Very good place for a solo traveler or a small group. Good breakfast with a number of choices. I strongly recommend this as a true b&b experience compared to my stay at Emily's Place in Amherst...although that place... More
