Situated in the center of Bucharest and having one of the oldest restaurants in town, Capsa is a landmark of Bucharest. The old architecture of the building is not overwhelming but rather cozy. The feeling of the hotel is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are nice and clean. The employees are very helpful. The location is great and you... More

I loved this hotel! The location was great, and the way the hotel looks it just makes you feel like a princess. This place is full of history as i heard many kings and queens have stayed here. The food at the restaurant was great but the room service was poor. i also liked the pastry shop at the entrance.

Fantastic rooms - gives you a little glimpse of what Bucharest might have been like a hundred years ago. Good service, but the food from room-service is better avoided. Doesn't have all the conveniences of the modern business hotels, but makes up for that in atmosphere.

We booked this hotel ourselves via email communication. We were promised 3 single rooms at 115 Euros each, including breakfast. Instead we were given 2 rooms at 115 Euros and one at 200 Euros. The hotel has a glorious history that is being destroyed by the outrageous attitude of the staff. As another reviewer stated, the staff is among the... More

I spent the weekend in Bucharest with my wife at the Casa Capsa. This should be one of the best hotels in Bucharest and certainly has one of the most comfortable beds. However, the experience is spoilt by dreadful service. The €15 breakfast is feeble and consists of luke warm coffee, stale pastries and few odds and ends. This is... More

If yards and yards of dark wood panelling, deep-pile carpets, chandelier-like light fittings and staff outfitted in maroon jackets are to your taste, then the Capsa will certainly give you that old Central European experience. However, light and airy it is not, including the service! Frankly, more than just a few staff appeared bored and demotivated. Only occasionally did you... More

My husband and I traveled through Romania in May of this year. We took a train from Moldova and arrived in Bucharesti. We rented a car and drove around Romania for 2weeks. Upon returning to Bucharesti, we decided to stay for a few days and see the sights. Bucharesti is an amazing place full of contradictions. The old, historic center... More

Recommendation brought me to the Hotel Capsa during a week when all my other choices in Bucharest were booked up. Very pleasantly surprised. This old dame (which has hosted tsars, kaisers and the odd emperor in the past) has had a plush facelift and is very comfortable. Somewhat Victorianesque decor in rooms, a little dark but comfortable with fair range... More

The hotel is clean, the service is OK, if not heartwarming and the rooms are large and clean, the bed was great and all of the amenities work perfectly. The breakfast is OK, but not to a true 5-* quality. In my book this was a 5-* hotel with a 3-* management, which fit my needs just fine. Have a... More
