Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A little out of the centre-of-town but not a bad neighbourhood. The room we stayed in was spacious with some outside space. Those were the positive elements of our stay. It seems as if it could have been a nice palce to stay at one point but it is being run on a shoestring now. The reception is only staffed during the day by one person. Our room was not cleaned during our two night stay. There was no one around at the hotel to take delivery of our lost luggage that had been delayed by a day and arrived at the hotel at 8pm the next evening. The reception was only staffed until 6pm. We were the only people in the hotel on our last night - no staff not even a night porter. Fine for an Airbnb but not a 4 star hotel!

We usually trust the Telegraph travel guide and booked this in good faith. But here, the guide was outdated based in a 2013 rating. Half of the hotel was under construction, some of the walls were wet, the garage was dripping with humidity, the sun sails were full of algie and the sun deck was slippery with the same. There was one person running the show (keeping the lights on?). The hotel bar was never opened. It felt like a run down place of old glory. We don’t recommend it.

Mattresses in room 23 are in need of replacement. Woke up with back pain and left as soon as I woke. Air conditioning doesn't function correctly either. Hotel zonar is cheaper for a top floor suite with proper mattress quality also.

This hotel is not what it purports to be, not what perhaps it once was. It is described as luxury boutique hotel, a four star property with a lovely view in a desirable part of town. We booked a two night stay in a suite based on this expectation. We showed up to find a dilapidated mess! The photos on their website are very misrepresentative. Dusty worn furniture, broken floor tiles, scuffed walls in need of paint, a patio door in our room with a broken window and lock that did not work, a large threadbare tarpaulin hanging over the large window in our room, blocking the view…and beneath this tarpaulin a collection of various old cushions from couches. To call this a two star hotel would be very charitable. It was dingy, dirty and uncared for. They told us the restaurant was closed due to the inability to find staff. Seeing the condition of the hotel we understand why keeping staff would be a challenge. When we saw the condition of the hotel and room we decided that we would not feel safe or comfortable staying there. We immediately moved our luggage back to reception and informed person that we would be leaving. I indicated a willingness to pay for my first nights stay, in spite of the misrepresentation. After ignoring my repeated email requests, the hotel ended up charging me the full cost for the 2 night stay. Unprofessional and irresponsible, in keeping with their hotel maintenance standard. Do yourself a favour…stay away!

Terrible! Horror! It took a lot of time to find a property as it was under construction scaffolding and in dark. Door handle fell off when we were entering the property! There was only 1 girl who was receptionist, maid, cleaner and waitress, meaning no time for anything and anyone. Our room was in basement, next to the uncovered and unprotected construction site. Room forniture was falling apart and there was no internet. Moisture was on the ceiling and everything was very dirty, including bedding. As it was too late to find another property to stay, we stayed only one night and cancel the rest of booking. However, the owner (very arogant and wird guy) insisted we pay full stay. In addition, even though we already paid via booking.com he threatened us to call police if we do not pay again?! So we paid again and afterwords refunded double payment from booking.com. All in total, we paid more than 300 EUR for 1 night and ran away from property called hotel but being barn instead. Actual photo of the property is as following.

President is located in the presidential street in Zagreb, which for some reason isn"t as busy as other parts of the center (take a 3 minute walk to British square to see the rush). The hotel is very well kept and the design is minimalistic: the owner is an architect, and the hotel is mixing traditional with the contemporary. We enjoyed our Deluxe room which was quite big for a city hotel and beyond comfortable. Enough has been said about the welcoming staff in other reviews. Loved every moment of our stay.

Small boutique type hotel. Room was clean, bathrooms very nice, bed comfortable. We enjoyed the small hotel as compared to the large chains. Very quiet for being in the city, nice little private outdoor patio. The young lady that worked that night was so helpful. We arrived later in the evening after driving in from Dubrovnik. She ordered food for us and even served it to us heated up and on plates. She kept us provided with drinks and went out of her way to be an amazing hostess. Refused any tips we offered. There are several sets of stairs , but very manageable. We had a very early flight, but they still offered to make us breakfast. Breakfast area is beautiful.

We didnt think much of this place looking at it from the street, and boy we were wrong. Luckily we chose to trust high Tripadvisor ratings and entered the hotel, what a beauty! Immediately greeted by super friendly receptionist, our luggage and the car were taken care of and they brought us to our room. Large wood terrace, bathroom and super comfy bed. Definitely opt in for breakfast, the restaurant is equally charming.

Not visible from the street at first, the glass reception facade hides a true little marvel inside. Design is out of this world, and our room was super beautiful and big. Some light switches didnt work but it didnt really matter compared to what you get. We had our own garden and biggest bathtub I have ever seen. Breakfast was great experience, we were there for 3 night and each morning had different selection of foods. Big thanks to Boris who solved our problem with the flight back home, dont know how we would sort it out without him. Thank you!
