Chick working during the day is rude and told us we need to learn Spanish to be here, room was average at best, blankets look and feel like there never washed, upstairs there is 1 bathroom for 20+ people, and dirty. But the worst thing is the music blares from reception until 3-4 in the morning then starts up again... More

Despite that the hostel is in a richer neighborhood in Montevideo, the hostel is old and dirty. I had a dorm that was dark, hot and the floor was wood plates. The kithcen was okay, but the bathrooms weren't clean enough. My friends got a bunk bed that was broken - they were scared that the top bed would fall... More

Unplugged is a great location and is a good place to meet other travelers. It is more of a party hostel than a relaxing one, but it's small so you'll get to know everyone. There is a computer to go online, and the neighborhood around the hostel is very safe, walkable, and full of restaurants. This is a nice place,... More

Checkin took ages cos the receptionist was easy to distract. First room I was shown was so smelly, it did hit me when I entered the room like a fist and I could only breathe through the nose. Seccond room had a very dirty bed full of stains and was made of crudest materials, so you would easily catch a... More

We had just had a week in Buenos Aires in the middle of party central and needed a break from the noise and revellers. We came here on a weekend and found a charming and pleasant atmosphere with a simple but very quiet room (it was sound proof!). The staff were extremely helpful and the common area downstairs was pleasant... More

The previous place we stayed booked us in here- unfortunately. The room was dirty and dingy. There was music blaring at reception and the hostels bar outside blared music and shouting until 3/4am. When I asked about moving I got a cold reception - a truly horrible place to stay - el viajero downtown Montevideo was like a palace in... More

I would recommend this place for people on a shoestring budget. It was clean, hygeinic, but met expectations for a cheap hostel. It was noisy with cramped quarters and the fans in our 4 person room didn't work. Also, during our two night stay one of the bathrooms was on the fritz so it took forever to get a shower.... More

I don't have much to say about this hostel, but the 85% customer rating on the hi hostel website shouldn't be! We got here just a few hours ago and woke up in the middle of the night with bedbugs crawling all over us and our things. We should've realized that this place was infested when one of our roommates... More

This hostel is ok, but not much more. It doesn¨t feel that clean which is never a good start. There are some good points. It is out of the city which if you want to feel a bit more disconnected then they´ve achieved that. You can walk or take a bus quite cheaply. The lockers thing is a concern, I... More
