I liked this hotel better than the other people in my group and would have rated it very good had they not run out of food at breakfast. We stayed 2 nights and I enjoyed the lovely grounds, the architecture of the rooms, and the novelty of having a church as part of the hotel. Our room was comfortable and... More

I've rarely had such mixed feelings about a hotel! The grounds are simply beautiful, with courtyards, fountains, flowers and vegetable gardens. The on-site restaurant is a lovely room with very good food. But I feel like a little too much of the spirit of the old monastery has been retained: narrow, hard beds; stone floors that make every sound echo;... More

Arrived late at night and the surroundings was dark. Lobby/bar/lounge area was nice since you can see the courtyard with their glass walls. Complimentary tea and coffee(?) table set up for guests. It was pretty cold at night. There's a heater provided in the room which we saw in the morning. Shower is consistently hot. Since there was no shower... More

I thought this hotel was great! I don't know if staying more that a night is a good option. I saw other hotels closer to more restaurants/cafes which I think it could be better. But if like me, just spending a night, take a shower, sleep, this is good! They offer you hot tea as most places I saw during... More

We stayed here for 2 night s and it's absolutely delightful. Our room was very nice with a huge bed......7ft yes we measured it! Lovely hot shower and small but pristine bathroom. the hotel is a converted monastery and is absolutely beautiful with courtyards and gardens, flowers in pots, peaceful corners to sit in and relax. The bar and sitting... More

Stayed in this hotel while waiting for starting hiking the Inkatrail. Good atmosphere, good food, peace and quiet AND your own church in case you should need one.....

The hotel is a great setting in an old monastary. Quiet, clean and comfortable rooms are good for sleeping...that´s where the positives end. The location is frankly useless for anyone staying more than one night. It is out of town up a dark track which you definately will not want to walk down at night. Especially as dodgy locals use... Our stay at the San Augustine Recoleta was nothing short of wonderful. The hotel itself is a converted monastery, and the grounds (as well as the rooms) are beautiful. Courtyards and flowers abound with plenty of opportunities to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. Free wi-fi – I couldn’t get it in my room, but I absolutely didn’t mind taking my... More

Think some people get this mixed up w/the Monasterio Hotel in Cusco. Anyway, we stayed here last week for 2 nights after landing in Cusco and coming down the mountain to get acclimated. The rooms, staff, restaurant were great. Not a lot to do right there, but we had a guide and driver(Kuoda travel-they're great) take us out and about... More

As part of our South American vacation we stayed at the San Agustin Monasteria de la Recoleta. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The hotel is very beautifully decorated and the chapel is not to be missed. This is where we stayed to get acclimated to the altitude. It is not really near much but that was perfect for what we...
