We arrived late afternoon. We wanted to walk the garden in sunlight so we did so soon after arrival. The garden is well maintained and filled with flowers and trees. We enjoyed seeing the guest houses (each set of guests has their own building or cottage). We saw birds including colorful hummingbirds. I wish they had feeders so we could... More

Two weeks ago, we stayed at the Sol Y Luna one night before and one night after our excursion to Machu Picchu. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, with acres of colorful native plants, fresh-water streams, and winding stone walkways. We stayed one night in a wonderful large, deluxe casita and one night in a... More

The views and ambiance are spectacular at this resort. Surrounded by lush foliage and fragrant flowers, the grounds exemplify the purity of the Peruvian spirit. We enjoyed a 20 minute complimentary horseback ride at the adjoining ranch and were treated to an outdoor evening performance in the style of Cirque de Soleil, compete with tight rope and trapeze. The food... More

Two of us stayed one night at Sol & Luna and just wish we had more time. Not sure how much time it would have required to tire of this wonderful property - but one night surely not enough! Beautiful room, patio, facilities. Gorgeous flower beds and landscaping. Lovely staff. Breakfast excellent; our late dinner was not a fair test... More

As others have said, this is a beautiful, thoroughly delightful resort, with lovely, flower-lined paths leading to charming individual casitas, and many amenities such as fine dining with food elegantly presented, the spa, etc. One can be with other people or feel happily alone, as each casita has a small porch and chairs, and the flowering bushes give one a... I can't add much to the other recent rave reviews. The flowering plants everywhere are gorgeous; the whimsical sculptures made me smile; the food (included in our package from Nat. Geo.) was terrific. My only complaint - and it's a petty one - was that the room was underlit, which made packing in the dark rather difficult. I never expected... More

I just loved it here. The accomodations where comfortable. The grounds were breathtaking. The food was extraordinary. I went on a trail ride and loved every minute of it. Well cared for horses and very kind and informed handlers. The spa was way too expensive.

This was our first stop in the Andes for acclimatisation before moving to greater heights. What a marvellous find! Comfortable spacious casitas spread over a large area of beautiful colourful gardens. Hard to leave the place! We were impressed upon arrival just after restaurant lunch closing time that the staff went out of their way to provide us with a... More

When you arrive, whether on your first day or day three, you are stimulated and welcomed by the dynamic use of color - through flower beds, painted buildings, murals and interior design. And then your senses are heightened through their use of outstanding materials, textures and sensitivity to design. After a long, but captivating trip through the Sacred Valley, which... More

My only regret in our recent trip to Peru was that we only spent two mights at Sol y Luna. This was ostensibly a pit stop between our visit to the Amazon and Macchu Picchu/Cusco. The Peruvian travel agent suggested the hotel when I mentioned that I wanted to go horseback riding and so we added it on at the... More
