I spent 2 nights here with my husband on a Gate 1 tour. The hotel reminded me of a lodge and our room had a rustic feel to it. We were given a room with 2 twin beds. The room itself was good size, had a hair dryer, a light over the sink, a flat screen TV and a small... More

A pretty Spanish-colonial hotel with gardens and a pool but it's located in Urubamba which is on your way from Cusco to Machu Picchu but near nothing. We went from seeing Inca ruins in Ollantaytambu 45 minutes back to Urubambu to spend the night and then 45 minutes the next morning back to Ollantaytambu to catch the early train to... More

This hotel is good for self-contained isolation but not good if you wish to venture outside for walks or dinners. Let's start with the good points:- 1. Reception are welcoming and serve coca tea. The experience would be enhanced if they served it in china rather than styrofoam cups. 2. Two free computers are available next to reception for internetting.... More

We stayed two nights at San Augustin in Urubamba and did enjoy the hotel for the most part. Its on a very busy road and not close to very much, the walk into the main part of town is fairly far, especially if you are looking to go in the evening, when its dark, it would be very dangerous as... A pleasant surprise with welcoming staff. Initially, the room I was assigned had a foul odor of sewage which could not be tolerated. The room was also looking over a dump and right by the main road with plenty of traffic noise. After a change of room towards the inner part of the hotel, the room was spacious and fresh... More

This hotel was pretty good, if you are staying in Urubamba then it should be suitable. Rooms were clean, grounds are nice and good views of mountains. Staff friendly to me. I do agree that it was kind of cold inside, space heaters in the rooms solved that problem pretty well but not in the common areas. Breakfast was pretty... More

We found this hotel to be an oasis of calm and a complete surprise, hidden behind an unassuming frontage onto the main road. Our room, a corner suite, was absolutely beautiful. The only downside was the food in the restaurant, which we found did not meet the standard we expected and was over salted.

We would recommend this for anyone.... newlyweds or singles. San Augustin had a romantic and tranquil environment. Beautiful grounds, great character and charm inside and out, quality craftsmanship, and clean. The rooms had beamed ceilings and were warmly designed. The location was central and convenient for seeing the Sacred Valley. The food was excellent, reasonably priced, and the service was... More

There are two San Augustin Hotels in Urubamba, this one and the Monesterio. We had lunch at the Monesterio, and it was excellent, but didn't stay there. This hotel (non-monesterio) was quite nice for an overnight stay, with a pool which looked clean and inviting (but our suits were left behind in Cusco to await our return from Macchu Pichu).... More

Well. It's better than some. The rooms were small, uncomfortable, and ugly. One pillow... tiny TV, portable heater worked OK, but was aesthetically unpleasing and I tripped over it while going to the bathroom in the dark. Bathroom was OK, but small. The floors had indoor/outdoor carpeting which was ugly and spread throughout the hotel. The restaurant staff was not... More
