"Munay Tika" means "beautiful flower" in the Quechua language. This hotel is aptly named because of the lovely open courtyard linking the front lobby with the rooms in the back. It is full of beautiful flowering trees. We stayed there two nights. This is not what I would call a fancy hotel, but it has everything one needs for comfort!... More

We stayed here for one night as part of an Intrepid Travel Inca Trail tour so we didn’t have a choice, but for general purposes this property has a rate of $50 per night for a double room including breakfast. The location is decent- right down the hill from the Ollantaytambo ruins (5 minute walk) and the exterior looks decent... More

This lively place is on the road to the train station. The rooms are basic and clean, gracious hosts, nice breakfast . Julia the owner is a well known healer, her 2 sons own restaurants close by with great food.

Our family of 7 (two grandparents in their 70's, two parents in their 40's and three kids ages 11, 9 and 5) stayed here for two nights bookending our visit to Machu Picchu. The hotel couldn't be better located for a tour of Ollyantambo. The property is 5 minutes walk to the Plaza De Armas, 5 minute walk to the... More

We stayed here one night after hiking and birding at Abra Malagra. I was concerned that it would be noisy as it is close to the train station (about two blocks away). It was very quiet, no traffic at night. It was easy to walk to all of the village and the ruins from here and many good restaurants are... More

Stayed at the Munay Tika for a few nights as part of a tour group. Hotel room has ample hot water for showers and lots of warm blankets for the beds. Other than that, not a lot to say for the rooms--lobby has WiFi and cable TV. Hotel is in multiple two story buildings, if possible avoid rooms in the... More

Good choise near Machu Picchu (train station 300m), quiet place and an intersting city, in the morning and in the evening ( many buses 1pm-4pm).Visit quietly the Inca's fortress before 12h.Thake time to visit the village. You will find restaurants, just good but take a drink at the Quechua Blues Bar : good atmosphere.Aguas Caliente : artificial, too many tourists.

I was booked here by a travel group while the rest of the group hiked Inca Trail. I found the place charming, especially the soothing sounds of the nearby river. Enjoyed leisure time in the common patio area overlooking the river. My room was basic, I liked the bed. There was an electrical short of some sort in the overhead... More

So so place by looks, not good value for money...the most incredible thing about staying here..with only 2 other rooms occupied that night was that the other guests were in the room above and you could hear every single footstep.... On speaking to the manager the only comment was...."it is a known problem".... Dont stay here!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was average. The room was comfortable and clean and had 3 single beds in it. However, the place only provides guests with bath towels and no hand towels. We were in room 201A, just above the office, and the bathroom door would... More
