This hotel is right on the Plaza de Armas with proximity to buses and restaurants and shops. From their roof and the second floor you could see the ruins. The woman running the place was sort of strange in some of her comments, but was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations about places to eat and things to... More

This was the worst place we booked during our 2 and 1/2 week trip to South America. We actually couldn't stay there, and had to leave and look for another option. Despite booking, confirming, and reconfirming our booking, they didn't have our reservations when we arrived. The person who was working the desk didn't speak any English, making things more... More

Our room was clean, but the minuses were that the bathroom door didn't close, and it was very dark. Also, most significantly, the room smelled like chemicals (paint, or something). Breakfast was a little disappointing, too. However, it was pretty cheap, and the owner was really helpful, aiding us in setting up a ride to the salineras of Moray. That,... More

This place is an absolute bargain. The room was just what we expected - nothing fancy. It was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The showers were lukewarm, but that wasn't a problem as it was hot in Ollantaytambo. There was a computer with internet, but it was very slow. Breakfast was above average, and was a great time to... Chaska Wasi was a great find. Affordable, close to everything in town, but yet far enough away so that nights are peaceful and quiet. The hostal offers large rooms with shared and private baths, a small kitchen area for guest usage, and best of all, an owner and manager that will go out of her way to assist guests with... More

Very good location, amazing views from the bar b q area. Not good for whoever got cats allergy! Cats are everywhere & even their smell, especially in the common area.

Stayed for one night on way back from Agua Calientes in a private room. We booked online, but on arrival we were told they had given our room away so hadto wait for them to find another one. Room was not bad, located at the back of the hostel with 2 beds. Was hard to get hot water in the... More

We spent 4 nights in Ollantaytambo at Chaska Wasi hostel. The hostel is located in the old walled part of the city some of it from Inca days. More importantly, Katty the owner was unbelievably helpful. She created a wonderful atmosphere at the hostel, making a New Year's eve dinner for all of the guests. As others have said, the... More

My friend and I stayed here one night on the way to Machu Picchu and then stayed an additional five nights on the way back through. I can't recommend this place enough. Top of the line. Katy is very helpful, and has great service. We stayed on the top floor that the other reviewer mentioned and, yes, it offers a... More
