The bottom line is that this is absolutely, positively not worth the money. Here's the synopsis. Positives: Location, location, location!!! There is no other hotel at the entrance of Macchu Picchu (that being said, is it really that big a deal to take a 20 minute bus ride from town?). As far as service was concerned, like all Orient Express... More

our stay at the lodge was perfect. the food and service was spectacular. the employees at the lodge call you by name and are willing to do most anything for you. the meals are included so we ordered different items just so we could try things we usually don't get to. The rooms are simple but, the view out the... More

It's awesome to be right next to Machu Picchu, so convenient for rolling out of bed to get into the site right as it opens. It's nice that all 3 meals are covered (food and drink) and that all of the water used at the site is filtered so you can have fruit and drinks without worry. As others have... More

Yes, this is a very expensive hotel. There is also no doubt that if this place was up-lifted and plonked in the middle of London, it would lose a star and would be no more than £150 per night. But, get real all you previous moaners, this is a small hotel, 8,000 feet up in the Andes, 50 yards from... More

Very attractive property right at the entrance gate to Machu Piccu. The rooms are rather basic, but clean and well-furnished. The location could not be better for this site. The food was far better than one would expect for a "national park" kind of place - WAY better than one gets at the US's Xanterra places. Courteous staff. I am... More

11:30am to 3pm, excellent selection, non-alcoholic beverages are free (surprise!). $38 each (includes tax!), no kids discount. Worth it, take your time. Peruvian music band played around 1pm, not sure it was a regular fixture. I don't even want to know how much travel agencies charge for this. But you can do it yourself: hike in the morning, eat lunch,... More

If you can afford, I highly recommend it. A minute from the gate. Being able to pop into the ground floor restroom anytime was a plus--there were long lines for the MP public facilities. Deduct the 3 meals when you assess the value--still expensive but well worth it.

Fantastic hotel at the entrance to the site of Machu Picchu. Expensive but everything included B and B, lunch, dinner and buffet lunch the next day. free mini bar and drinks in the restaurant. Lovely big bed and best night's sleep for the whole holiday or was that because we had walked miles clambering over MP? recycling baskets in bathroom.... More

We arrived at this hotel at about 1:30 in the afternoon. Check-in was a bit busy but was fast and easy. Our room was really nice and all you need in a room - nice bathroom, comfortable bed and a little decoration. The room was one of the nicer I have stayed in but it wasn't amazing, however the location... More

Yes it is expensive BUT it includes 3 magnificent meals & drinks, you are only a 1 minute walk from the entrance and you are there in the evening when everybody else is heading back down on the buses. We arrived late morning and it was raining, the hotel supplied umbrellas for our first entrance to MP (you can come... More
