If one is looking for a good introduction to the Amazon, Maniti is the best. The guides we had, Edison and his buddy Miguel were very knowledgeable and patient. Especially, Miguel was fantastic at spotting animals in the most unnoticeable corners.

Maniti Expeditions' lodge is located in the interior of the jungle, 2.5 hours down river from the city of Iquitos, on the doorstep to the entrance of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Lodging is in traditional, authentic, stilted thatched-roof style house with private bungalows protected with mosquito nets and plenty of hammocks. At night camp is lit with kerosene lamps and solar powered lights. All accommodations are private with private shower and bathroom.
