Depending on where your room is, you may or may not get hot water in the morning. And if you're housed off the lobby, it's noisy. Other members of our group housed in the back of the hotel complained of barking dogs all night long. Toilets seem to clog easily here, many of our group had to call staff in... More

We stayed here in Dec 2011 as part of a three week tour. We were very dissapointed with the quality of the hotel and found it to be tired and needing a bit of tidying up. However the biggest issue by far was the noise from the street at the front and the noise in the hotel corridors. There is... More

The Taypikala Cusco Hotel is right in the midst of the old city - next to the Koricancha Temple and a five minute walk from the Plaza de Aramas. You can't get a better location for the price. The interior is like a museum with antique weavings decorating the walls and rooms...a must see rare and beautiful collection. Staff is... More

Interesting hotel...we stayed in 3 different Taypikala's on the trip, and each one was about the same. The bathroom fixtures had all been updated, but they didnt work. The faucets spun around over the beautiful glass bowl sink, the blow dryers (if they had them) didn't work for more than a couple of minutes, reading lights over the beds had... More

Overall this hotel was an alright place to stay. My favorite thing about the hotel was the location. It was close enough to the happening places but far enough away for a low noise level. Everything we wanted to do in the city was within walking distance. My least favorite things was the lack of hot water, included breakfast, &... More

We must have gotten lucky ! We had two separate stays here, a total of 5 nights. At 3 stars, it's not luxury, but our rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Same for the lobby and restaurant, where the breakfast was fine. We had several meals at the restaurant, which wasn't chic, but the food was just fine. ( It... More

Hotel is located about three long blocks from the main square of the city where the main churches, cafes and shopping are found. We stayed in the hotel two nights, the first night I have to say was horrible!!! The room was on the bottom floor facing the street with a small window that was below street level and gave... More

3 nights: this is probably the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Banging during the day (both inside the hotel and outside on adjacent buildings). Loud lobby that carries throughout the hotel. The floors are "pergo" type fake wood, and the smallest sounds, even quiet footsteps, echo up and down the halls and into your room. But the worst... More

A modest hotel not so close to the main square. Rooms are spartan with comfortable beds though. Small bathroom. Staff is helpful and kind but not particularly friendly. Breakfast is better than expected. One section is under renovation and it will probably improve the hotel. The rates shown are usually negotiable. No central heating and no AC (hardly necessary in...
