The location is ok. It is on a busy street. If you enjoy walking (which I do) there are a lot of restaurants and cultural sites within walking distance. The people who work there are all very friendly. No one ever once seemed to have an attitude or be frustrated at all. We just stayed there for 4 nights at the end of May. We had 2 adjoining rooms in the back. The bathrooms had just been redone and were probably nicer than mine at home. Stayed here with an OAT tour in October 2008. The location of the hotel is great on the Avenue del Sol. The Plaza de Armas, or main square of Cuzco is only a 4 block walk. Stayed here as part of a tour group. The room was pleasant and clean. My room looked over the inner coutyard/lobby. This could get noisy at times. However, members of my tour group who faced the street complained about noise too. The hotel was well located, in walking distance to everything. I enjoyed two dinners I had in the restaurant.
