The Don Carlos hotel was our in between accommodation...the only reason we really needed to be there was a night either side of Aguas Calientes for Macchu Picchu. Because of this we weren't too fussed over the quality of place we stayed.
However, the Don Carlos was a fantastic hotel. Good location, only a few blocks to the main square...

The location is ok. It is on a busy street. If you enjoy walking (which I do) there are a lot of restaurants and cultural sites within walking distance. There was a window in the that looked out to an atrium rather than the outside. The decor of the room was dark and dreary. The sheets and towels were clean....

No complaints about this hotel. It's located within walking distance of the center of Cusco, with it's many historic sites, restaurants and shopping.
This was a great hotel, located close to the main plaza in Cusco. The lobby is nice, the rooms are decent. They are small and not great or luxurious by any means. But they are clean and kept up well. There is a side room off of the lobby that has 2 computers, sofas, chairs, TVs, etc. It is a...

The people who work there are all very friendly. No one ever once seemed to have an attitude or be frustrated at all. When I first arrived at the hotel, they brought me a cup of coca tea to help with the altitude sickness. The breakfast buffet in the morning was decent; they had a very wide selection of fruit...

We just stayed there for 4 nights at the end of May. We had 2 adjoining rooms in the back. The bathrooms had just been redone and were probably nicer than mine at home. The rooms were large, nice and quite. The lobby was very nice as was the breakfast each day. And our location across from the Sun Temple...

Stayed here with an OAT tour in October 2008. The location of the hotel is great on the Avenue del Sol. The Plaza de Armas, or main square of Cuzco is only a 4 block walk. The lobby and dinning area of the hotel look spiffy, like a nice but not luxurious medium sized city hotel. There is an elevator,...

Stayed here as part of a tour group. The room was pleasant and clean. My room looked over the inner coutyard/lobby. This could get noisy at times. However, members of my tour group who faced the street complained about noise too. The hotel was well located, in walking distance to everything. I enjoyed two dinners I had in the restaurant.
This was my 3rd time to stay at the Don Carlos. It is a 3 star hotel and that is what I experienced. I have stayed twice with a room that overlooks La Aveneda Del Sol and 1 time overlooking an alley. I much prefer to look over the street. The breakfast is pretty good for the price. The staff...
