I found Hostal Mallque through the Hosteling International organization website. I like staying in hostels around the world because I like the lifestyle, use of a kitchen for some special diet requirements, and the casual friendly atmosphere to meet fellow travelers and compare notes with, and ability to lock my gear up when out and about. So I was a... More

This hostal was very charming and true to the architecture of the area. Rooms are around a courtyard and the decor was cultural and well chosen. The place was clean, close to the Plaza and good value for money. I stayed a double room and it was comfortable, a good size, and not in a noisy area. This was back... More

Warm inviting colors, charming Colonial ambience, hot coca tea all day long, comfortable and clean rooms, only a few blocks from the plaza, stellar beakfast...and Cynthia, the host, Hostel Mallqui turned out to be a wonderful stab in the dark. My first time to Peru. And as you already know, booking everything over the internet leave one a little nervous.... More

We stayed in Hostel Mallqui for 11 nights, after one night in our booked hostel next to the Plaza de Arma(rather lose the booking fee than stay in small room with no common space). Hostel Mallqui is nice with good breakfast, warm welcome and helpful staff, comfortable, clean and big room (matrimonial room with private bathroom), welcome common space, located... More

I make a reservation in this hostal. The architecture is really nice, ambient is quiet, and have a very good breakfast. Problem start with the hot water when we wake up very early to our tours an never end when we come back. Hostal have a problem whit water as well as others hostal in cusco. The problem was they... The hostal was fine and we enjoyed our stay, but I would caution guests to be careful if you leave your cases in the hostal store. One of our cases was broken into while we were at Machu Picchu and although the manager helped us report it to the police, who were very clear that it was an "inside job".... More

Really nice hostel and rooms. Clean! Very nice and helpful personal. Location is as well good no more than 10min. walk to Plaza de Armas. First we have stayed in Amaru Hostal (the same hostal chain). We have stayed longer as we planned in Cusco and unfortunately Amaru was booked out so we got offer to stay at Mallqui and... More

Hostal Mallqui is great! They sent a complimentary taxi upon our arrival at the airport to pick us up. The facilities are clean. They provide free internet, free "American" breakfast (1 egg cooked any way, fruit salad, coffee with milk, fresh squeezed orange juice, and fresh baked bread), and free cocoa tea in the lobby. There are also board games... More

Stayed here for a few nights and enjoyed my stay. Apart from a broken toilet the first night the rest was lovely. The staff were friendly and very helpful despite not speaking much English. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard everyday and the free wifi and tea was very much appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful with various drinks, eggs,... More
