There are many hotel options in Arequipa but when I got there, they all seemed to be full. I stayed 2 nights in the Hotel San Felipe for 50 soles per night and though it was wasn't the cheapest option, it was a good place to stay.
The hotel is very clean and run by a friendly and helpful gentleman. He helped me get a taxi for 3 soles to the bus terminal and held my backpack the entire time so it would not get wet on the ground.
The room has a TV with many channels (some english), great bathroom with tub, large bed, and mini-bar. That was room 201. The other rooms were smaller and had older bathrooms. The only strange thing about the hotel is that the rooms are separated by the hall only by a glass wall and door. However, there are curtains that you can pull over the glass windows and doors to ensure privacy. More
