The rooms are comfortable and staff is friendly, but it is located in an area that is really close to nothing of interest. Arequipa has many options to stay nearer the Plaza de Armas or Calle San Francisco. Based solely on location, I wouldn't stay here again. Also, accepting credit cards would be an improvement.

This was our second stay in 6 months and it felt like coming home! Comfortable beds, lovely garden, good breakfasts and a great host - what more could you want?! Alex is really friendly and helpful and we not only loved Arequipa, but the house too. We hope to be back again sometime.

We stayed 3 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Alex and her team are very helpful and always went the extra mile. The hotel is very modern and clean. Rooms had cable tv and good free wifi. Breakfasts were nice- simple European continental style. The hotel is about 10 mins walk to the main plaza. Definately recommend this hotel.

Los Penguinos is a short walk from the centre. The owner is very friendly and competent. Good tourist information and a booking service is available. The rooms are very light and airy and there are comfortable beds.

I've been to Arequipa three times and stayed at La Casa de los Pinguinos all three times. It's a great atmosphere, clean, secure and with awesome service!
