im from Ecuador but i live in Miami now and all i can say is that i loved the place. Super calido, la familia(owners are great) nos atendio muy bien, el desayuno es fresco, el hotel esta en buen estado. i'd defenitely come back to stay there.
We stayed a few nights and had a wonderful stay... the hotel, the staff, the town and residents... all just a great experience...!!

I recently spent 7 nights at this delightful "boutique" hotel. This hotel, itself an historic building, is located in the historic district of Cuenca just a few blocks from the Parque Calderon, old cathedral, new cathedral and many other interesting sites.
The family that owns the hotel just wants their guests to have a unique experience and they are successful....

We stayed here one evening and thourghly enjoyed ourselves. Everything was clean, the staff were very helpful, and the location is ideal. Given the price i would say thst its fantastic value for your money.
We stayed at the Hotel Casa San Rafael for a total of 13 nights in January/February. The whole hotel was very clean & tidy. The rooms are very comfortable, beds great, bathrooms small but quite acceptable. Great showers. The breakfast was always great & delicious. The hotel is centrally located with just about anything you would need within walking distance....

Casa San Rafael is a lovingly renovated 19th century mansion in the historic center of Cuenca. The hotel owners dedicated three years (I asked about this) to restoring and renovating the building.
