We stayed at Hostal La Posada at the start of Semana Santa. First time in Ecuador and first time in a hostel sharing a room with friends. My friend arranged the entire trip and also for Jaime (the manager) to pick us up at the airport (for an additional charge). We headed straight to the hostel then to our huge... More

We stayed in this hostel for 5 nights. It is perfectly located in the beautiful old town of Quito, just few minutes to Plaza Santo Domingo, where you can also take the local Bus to Mariscal. The rooms are huge, although the bathrooms are really small - but clean. The owner is really friendly, and they have a reasonably prices... More

This is a very inexpensive place and you can go out to a nice dinner, probably several times, on what you save in lodging. However, if you want a comfortable bed, soft pillow, fresh-smelling sheets, and helpful staff, this is a poor choice. We never saw Jaime the manager, and his fill-in was busy using the Internet to stay connected... More

I stayed here for more then 2 months in this hostel, and it felt like my home. I loved the building, the super friendly owner Jaime, the good admotsphere and it was very well located. I had spanish lessons in the old town (www.quitoantiguospanish.com) at walking distance, and did volunteerwork in the new town which was easy to reach by... More

Nice building perfectly located in the old town. The private room was spacious and clean. The Manager was very friendly and helpful. At the time we visited the kitchen was filthy but this the only downfall of this hostel. Would definitely stay there again!

For $8/night/person this hostel is right on the money! It's a charming old house with creaky wooden floors, huge windows, a well stocked (and clean) kitchen, a kick-butt roof-top patio with a breathtaking view of El Panecillo, and every room is different so have a look around if you can. Some have more storage than others. Jaime is SO nice.... More

The location of this hostal and the price are the best we have found in Quito. The room we were given was a huge room with four beds, a shower, and a balcony with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, we did feel a little cold but I guess it´s because the room was so big. The owner is very nice and... More

All in all, for $7 a night in the location ($14 for a double room), I am not complaining too much. It was a place to sleep, and that's about it. The courtyard room is pretty nice, though. However, the guy who worked there on the weekend seemed mostly disinterested in the people staying there, but he wasn't rude (although... More

Pretty much everything was as expected. This hostel seemed relatively clean although there was no cleaning of the room or making of the beds during our 5 night stay here. Rooms seem very large with adequate storage. Sleep quality overall was a little below average due to the fact that the bedding appeared to be att least 20 years old.... More

I was a bit worried because of some comments here so I booked only 2 nights but ended up staying 5. The location is excellent, just above La Ronda and a few minutes walk to the colonial center. Friendly staff, clean rooms, some with private bathroom, and all at a fraction of what you pay elsewhere. Replying to some of... More
