Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

WARNING! I reserved 2 rooms for 4 nights. Since the time of booking, the hotel sold and old reservations were canceled. Nobody informed me. I found out from a tour operator arranging airport transfers the night before I flew to Quito! Luckily Expedia was able to rebook me. Expedia had not been informed and showed my reservation confirmed. If you have reservations you better call the hotel to confirm. Worst service ever!

I stayed at Hotel Sebastian before and after Galapagos trip. First stay was in older room on lower floor. Second stay was in remodeled room on upper floor. Remodeled rooms were well designed and furnished. Felt I was receiving a great value on room price to quality. Desk staff was quite helpful and most spoke English. Ask for a map of the city which they have behind the desk. There is a guy outside who will help you get a taxi to where ever you want to go. They will also help arrange for a taxi to get to the airport. Great hotel for first time visitor to Quito. Didn't realize how lucky I was on hotel location until I arrived. Hotel is just blocks from the tourist office and Plaza Foch where you get picked up for most of the day tours outside the city. You can buy tickets for the hop-on-hop off city bus tour at the tourist office, which I recommend for getting acquainted with the city. Stock up at the tourist office on good priced chocolate to take home too. Achiote is closest highly rated restaurant. Just 2 blocks away. I felt safe walking to and from there at night as a solo female. I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Make certain you arrive with the name of the hotel and address to give to the taxi driver. Would stay here again due to location and comfort.

Enjoyed a nice stay here with family after returning from the amazon. Nicely located and close to the CBD. Rooms are simple but good, friendly staff were helpful. Has a decent restaurant within the hotel too.

In the Mariscal district of downtown Quito, this modern hotel is popular with both business and tourists. There is a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby and it is easy walking distance to the Mercado Artesanal. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

I booked through Booking.com because the TripAdvisor rating was high for the daily room cost. Service was professional and courteous. They kept their promise and brought a small frig to the room to store my insulin. There was constant car noise from the street below at night. The only way to completely flush the toilet was to hold the handle for 10 seconds. The bed was comfortable, the size was big enough to not feel cramped. The TV had a lot of channels, but I could only find 2 English channels, The TV remote was easy to use. The WiFi was excellent and free and there was a different router for each floor.Your different devices stayed logged in for the entire stay and it required a password. There were also 2 house computers in the lobby for the guests to use. The in house restaurant was OK but there were few choices for the dinner entrees. They did let you order half portions for half price, just in case you were not famished. It was never very busy and you can always tell a great restaurant when the locals go there for the evening. All I saw were guests, like me, that didn't want to venture out for better dinner spots. The breakfast buffet was very good, with fresh fruit, pastries and an omelet bar. Fresh juice and strong coffee made it a full breakfast. It was included in my room price. I am not sure that I would stay here again,,,there was no pool or Jacuzzi and the workout room was very minimal. I also found some insects, with wings on top of my bed when I was laying down to watch TV. Fortunately, they were not bed bugs, just annoying. They should spray the room to get rid of them. I just can't find a total package worth recommending.

We stayed 4 nights. On arrival, they had problems finding our booking, so they gave us an upgrade to a suite - and it was BIG. The suite was thoroughly cleaned each day. The reception staff were very helpful and breakfast offered all that we required. There is a plaza nearby with plenty of eating and drinking choices (very lively at night). The walk from the hotel to there was a safe walk.

If you just need a bedroom, bathroom, breakfast and can cope with not a prime (but safe) location in Quito, then this place is for you. Moderately priced it will provide you with a good night sleep without any major luxury

They have created a comfortable, clean, and beautiful hotel on the edge of Mariscal where the nightclubs and restaurants are. It is a bit quieter than staying in the noisy Mariscal area, but only a few blocks to walk. They have a very nice restaurant with curved windows looking out onto the street and park. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The rooms are big & comfortable, but a little tired. However they are being up graded. We are budget conscious travelers,so enjoyed the big breakfast selection with big helpings. In the evenings we had a large choice of nearby restaurants, cafes & takeaways. Location is handy between the Old city & tourist attractions & the New city with shopping centers etc. Staff were friendly & always someone available to help, which we needed often,as we only spoke English.
