Very happy with my four night stay at this historic hotel in Quito. Very neat. Great breakfast. Very attentive staff. Highly recommended. There are some inexpensive places to eat nearby and the location is very convenient to all the attractions in town.

Ended up staying here inadvertently, but definitely better than what I had booked before. The Beds were big and very comfortable, and the little touches, like coming back to a hot water bottle in the bed, were amazing. The staff were very attentive, and breakfast was amazing, eggs almost any way you could want and at whatever time you wanted.... More

Like the previous reviewer, we were moved at short notice to the Silberstein by G Adventures apparently the Ecuadourean President was in town. We did not know what to expect. The previous week we stayed at the Quito Hilton which was excellent. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and falling over themselves to... More

Our tour group was relocated here after Hilton Colon was taken over for a international government conference....and it was definitely for the better. The service provided was outstanding, rooms and common areas unique, clean & comfortable and we loved the hot water bottle in the bed when getting back from dinner. If possible, get a room away from the street... More

After having another hotel deny our reservation, my wife and I were lucky to have met one of the owners of the city Art Hotel Silberstein. After 1 night in a noisy hotel, we contacted the owner of Hotel Silberstein, who, along with her husband picked us up and booked us in their hotel. We were immediately impressed with the... More

I had the honor to stay at the Hotel Silberstein for three nights during my trip to Ecuador and Galapagos. It is a home with romantic rooms, excellent service and beautiful ambiente. Eliza the manager was outstanding, she was reading every wish in our eyes and helped out were ever she could. Even when we had an accident, one of... More

My husband and I stayed one night and it was great. Darwin greeted us, took care of the reservation, and carried our bags up the two flights of stairs. Breakfast was good, with Darwin there ready to make our eggs. The hotel is close enough to the Mariscol to walk, but far enough away from the noise. The room was... More

City Art Hotel is a terrific escape in the city of Quito. Not known for a glamourous atmosphere, Quito, Ecuador represents the majority of the country's poor population. City Art Hotel is like an oasis in the desert. Darwin, the hotel manager, was especially helpful, and incredibly strong, as he carried both my husband's and my luggage up the stairs... More

I was told by locals that a taxi cab ride to the City Art Hotel Silberstein should cost about $3.50-$4.00. Beware of taxi drivers taking advantage of tourists (especially those that don't speak Spanish). The hotel is fairly close to the Quito airport 8-10 minutes. Darwin was a great host and welcomed us to a nicely chilled glass of freshly... More
