We spent one very memorable night at Casa San Marcos, the 73rd lodging of our round-the-world trip. We had previously spent a night in Quito at the clean but fairly standard Swissotel, and I would choose Casa San Marcos in a heartbeat. We particularly loved our romantic dinner in the art gallery: candlelit, private room, excellent wine and service. The... More

Thank you for your review. For us was a very special time, as you were so gracious and kind guests. We were specially enthused on your enjoying our environment and how you like to go around the neighboorhood. We really hope that you decide sometime to come back, as we do have quite a lot of special places that you... More

If slick, corporate, and soulless with cavernous meeting rooms is what you seek in a hotel, this one's not for you. If a world-class meal served on a coffee table in front of a crackling fire, in a grand exquisitely-appointed living room appeals to you, book it now! From breakfast on the gorgeous terrace to the eclectically antique-furnished guest rooms,... More

Casa San Marcos was among our favorite accommodations. Mayra and her staff are absolutely lovely and attentive. The home is in a beautiful setting in old town Quito and is teaming with treasures. Casa San Marcos is truly a magic place, with the best food we had in Quito. Thank you for such a lovely stay!!!!

We stayed at Casa San Marcos the night before our Galapagos Cruise, and we were so charmed that we changed our hotel (from the J.W. Marriott) after the cruise so we could stay here an additional 2 nights. All the staff was incredibly helpful and so friendly - everything we needed from food (if they are making Pasqualina's while you... More

If you have a problem, which is unlikely, the staff will make it right. A very enjoyable stay.

The quality of service we were lucky enough to experience at Casa San Marcos was worth the expense and then some. My family used the hotel as a home base while traveling throughout Ecuador. They held our luggage while we were away on more then one occasion. We had early mornings a couple of times and they had breakfast prepared... More

The owner Mayora and reception staff Catherine & Alphonsina exceeded all our expectations. We have travelled in 6 South American countries. This is the best small hotel we have experienced in terms of a central historic location, rooms & public spaces with authentictic furnishings & artifacts and truely caring personal service in a comfortable but not snouty atmosphere. It is... More

My wife and I planned to stay in Quito's historic center for four nights during our trip to Ecuador. In doing Internet research Casa San Marcos sounded very interesting and intimate, our kind of place. Well, we certainly hit the jackpot! We were there over the Christmas holiday. The service was as professional as we have ever experienced in our... More

The Casa San Marcos was a lovely enclave in the Old Town of Quito ... we definitely appreciated the location and the beautiful decor, as well as the friendliness of the staff. However, the bathrooms were somewhat shabby and the walls were so thin that we heard virtually every noise made throughout the building, as well as a very large... More

Comparing prices of the different small hotels available in this old historical area of Quito is more or less like comparing apples and oranges in my opinion. You will get so much more for your money at the Casa San Marcos. The location is perfect for visiting the UNESCO World Heritage area of the capital and the small street where... More
