I visited the lodge with a friend while on a two-month backpacking trip through South America, and this tour was definitely a highlight! The diversity of activities, wonderful food and of course, amazing host family made our visit unforgettable. I´ve detailed my experience in photos on my blog, so check it out then book your stay right away! http://jessicafryman.com/2013/far-up-in-the-clouds/ http://jessicafryman.com/2013/in-two-hemispheres-at-once/... My friend and I had originally planned on doing a 4 night and 5 day tour of the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador. At our hostel I happened to see a flyer for the Cloud Forest in Mindo and checked it out online, and boy am I glad I did. We only stayed one night at the lodge but I was... More

What an amazing opportunity to experience the cloud forest and to meet two delightful families! My husband and I went to Urcu Puyujunda for 3 nights and 4 days in early January of 2012. Boy did they keep us busy! Every day we had great activities planned such as visiting a local jewelry artist, hiking the gorgeous hills to waterfalls,... More

The Urcu Puyujanda Lodge is a most beautiful paradise. The people there are amazing. Maria and Freddy coordinated our stay perfectly with a side trip to Mindo for zip-lining and the local sites. Jorge and Teresa served as our drivers. I am very glad they knew the roads so well! Maria and Anita prepared the most delicious meals (there was... More

My friend and I (both 23, male) spent one night at the lodge. We left feeling like we had the best crash course cloud forest experience possible. We did the zip lines, went to the butterfly farm, visited Mindo all during the afternoon, had a great dinner and listened to the sounds of the jungle at night, and woke up... More

I loved almost everything about our June trip to Urco Puyujunda, and felt very well taken care of. This is a perfect experience for independent travelers who embrace the idea of simple living for a few days. Our hosts picked us up right on time at our hostel in the Old Town of Quito. They are a couple with three... More

We took our boys (11 and 4) to Quito, Ecuador this past spring break and it was truly a trip of a lifetime. I still can't believe the things we did. One of those side trips was here at Urcu Puyujunda. I arranged it before we left the states. She and her husband (and son) picked us up at our... More

I booked the 3 day 2 night package that includes transport from Quito. Marie and Freddie picked us up at our hotel. The transport was well arranged and quite comfortable. The drive from Quito took nearly 3 hours. The cabins are quite rustic which added to the charm. There is no electricity but there are candles. Don't forget the headlamps.... More

Very rustic and delightful. Only cold water for showers and no electricity in the huts. Steep climbs to the huts. A great experience. Food good and hosts great as was the guide Clever? Not 5 star but new huts are being constructed with hot water so we were told. Take warm clothing weather Changes rapidly.
