We stayed at Hotel Andino during an inspection trip of Ecuador. Miguel was very accommodating, allowing us to leave things with him while we explored different parts of the country. Rooms are decent and there is hot water in the private bathrooms. Location is nice, near Plaza Foch and other sits in the Mariscal District. Breakfast is simple but sufficient.... More

Miguel is very accommodating and goes out of his way to help; his ability to communicate in English is a real bonus. The rooms are extremely good value (hot showers, clean and comfortable) and the location near the centre of Mariscal Sucre is perfect. Breakfast could have been a little more substantial, but compared with other hotels, Andino's value is... More

The hotel is abt 5 min easy walk to Foch Plaza, where restaurants/ pubs/ nightlife of Quito are located but taxidrivers sometimes do not know it so bring the hotel address card for convenience. Stayed there for 5 nights altogether as part of our galapagos program and found the rooms clean and comfortable. However, the walls are thin and the... More

This is one of the best places to stay when you're on a budget in Ecuador. Clean, hot water, great breakfast, and wonderful staff. The place is a 5 minute walk from Plaza Foch and a ton of great restaurants. We really loved chatting with Miguel, who has a great sense of humour. The place really feels like a home... More

My wife and I stayed here in March 2012. I arrived with a stomach virus(?) and everyone was very helpful in trying to resolve my problem. Although I ignored everyone and was better after a day or so, the concern shown was very comforting. Miguel was tolerant in allowing us to speak with him in Spanish, which we enjoyed. He... More

This a cute little boutique hotel in the best part of the Mariscal District. Miguel(the owner) speaks English, but the night person, Cecelia, does not. It is near the best restaurants in Quito (La Pavarotti, Mare Nostrum; for example). The Swisshotel and the Radisson are in walking distance. The facilities are very basic but charming. The rooms are small, but... More

OK, this is not a 5 star hotel by US standards, but for the price it definitely is! Fantastic service, decent breakfast, clean rooms, hot water, even hi speed 'Net! What more do you want? In a nice part of town near the embassies. Minor qibbles are bed sizes (too short), no A/C (but not really needed), very few outlets,... More

When we arrived at the Hotel in mid-January, I thought we had made a mistake booking five nights in what looked like a residential neighborhood, far from the Old Town. How wrong we were. The staff was very courteous and attentive. After five weeks in Peru and Ecuador, the first thing we noticed was the breakfast was superb, compared to... More

We stayed here very briefly on our way to and from the Galapagos in early December. Despite a rushed schedule we were welcomed and accomodated most graciously. It is not a fancy place, but it is very affordable and clean! Quiet too! The driver (Patricio) who picked us up at the airport was the most reliable person we have dealt... More

We were in Quito last week and stayed at hotel Andino twice. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. After our first day there we traveled to Tena and the hotel staff was nice enough to keep our extra bag with them. Once we returned back to the hotel, Miguel helped us with directions, taught me Spanish... More
